I am sure it will brake and it will likely not break.

That is a nasty looking break too. I think I have seen pics of broken frames from just about every manufacturer so one (or a few) out of all those sold does not mean much, except of course the one who owns the bike that broke. How was Felt to work with on the warranty replacement? Has the replacement frame held up or did you sell it?

If you buy a used bike - NO WARRANTY FOR YOU!

Something to consider.

I opted to take a chance and my used frame is doing fine. If and when it breaks, I'll buy another used one. Or if my wife has been buying a lot of shoes, a new one.

There is a poster that used to post a little more often Terbennet (?). He broke his Felt, replaced under warranty then I'm not so sure but he may have broke the second one as well and replaced. It happens, I've broken 2 Lemonds covered by Trek, replace both times. Like TH says, you won't be covered.

Just did some research, it was Felt that he was riding.

My LBS and Felt worked together.
Shipped the new frame from CA in 4 days, bike shop had me on the road in 6 days.

For $600 will you have a factory warranty? You might check with Felt first. I read over, meaning missed the 2008 part. However your weight should be fine for most any bike. There is no way of knowing how the bike has been used since 2008. Are you buying it from a LBS? It might be well worth your money to pay a trustworthy LBS to look it over for defects if possible prior to purchase.

Nope, just some guy on the list. Seeing these problems scared me, and ive decided to go with (and what ive wanted, but couldn't exactly fine) a Specialized Tri-cross/S-works bike. Paying $600 for that as well, and i fell in love with the curvature and the architectural on the bike. Im sorry, buts its like a car... i like the damn curves. This bike should hold my weight with these types of tires?

You dont need to worry about your weight so much, any frame free of defects will be fine.

I bought my bike in 2005 and it was registered by the LBS at the time of purchase under MY NAME. When you make a claim, they don't really go by the receipt as they know who purchased the bike by name. Same when I bought my wife's bike in 2007, they registered it under her name at time of purchase. That is Trek, maybe Felt is different.
