I'm thinking 300 would be a realistic goal for Sept so 400 is a stretch for me - fall is tough! I'm also tempted to focus on climbing and finally get to 20k. The two aren't mutually exclusive but focusing on one impinges on the other. I'm at 4k already for Sept though.

Having hit 250 last month and 200 the month before, I will go for 300 this month. Most will be on the trainer as the weather is going to prevent quite a bit of riding.

100k brevet with Mrs Contango today. Her first ever 100k completed, the last one defeated her as her knees were giving her a lot of trouble.

I put myself down for 400km this month and then remembered I'm on Jury duty for Sept....if I get picked I might only get half of the mileage.....so I'm going to qualify it depending on what happens on Sept 10th and 24th.... Karen

Hi All,
Been lurking around for a while- and now seems like as good a time as any to jump in...
By way of introduction, I'm a 6' guy, down from 315 to 260lbs. Mid summer last year, when I took my old bike out of storage and put it back together, 10 miles was a huge accomplishment. This year, so far, I have somewhere north of 1800 miles on my new Kona Honkee Inc.
September has long been planned to be to culmination of my season's riding goals. I'm riding Cycle for the Cause, The Northeast AIDS ride from Boston to New York in just a few weeks.
In August I clocked about 475.
In September I've already had an 83 mile ride, I'm registered for the NYC Century, and will have at least another 30 mile and 65 mile ride before I leave for BOS. Then 280 miles over 3 days to get home. (and there's a very good chance I won't touch my bike for the week that will remain in September then )
So, adding that up, and adding a few miles for commutes, errands and such, I think I'm looking at 600 mile month.

My goal last month was 200 and I was able to get there so this month I'm bumping up to 350. I have a planned trip to ride a major portion of the C&O Canal towpath at the end of the month so here goes.
1 Sept - 20
2 Sept - 11
3 Sept -25
Monthly Total - 56
1 Sept - 20
2 Sept - 11
3 Sept -25
Monthly Total - 56

Chef,
I'll match your 450 goal for September also.
It will be a challenge this month, but isn't that what goals are all about?

Last month I missed my goals (200mi / 6,000ft) by 25mi / 200ft.
This month, I think I'll set the same goals. Hopefully I can reach them, although it'll be a very busy month for me.
9/02: 20.1 miles / 680' - Los Gatos Creek Trail
9/03: 7.6 miles / 580' - Land's End to Sausalito
9/03: 7.9 miles / 640' - Fisherman's Wharf to Sausalito
Goal: 200 miles / 6,000'
MTD: 35.6 miles / 1,900'
My wife joined me for the ride(s) in SF today. It was by far her toughest ride yet. I didn't know what the elevation profile was going to look like...and now I know to check it out in advance. She doesn't like hills - and she made sure to let me know it.

9/4 35.7 with 400 feet of elevation change.
For some reason on this one particular ride Strava shows the elevation gain (400+) until I hit "finish ride" and then it zaps it away to zero. Granted, this ride is very flat, but has small elevation changes which I want credit for dang it!!
MTD 80.7 miles with 2,494 feet of climbing.
I may get another ride in this afternoon with some climbing involved.
