Just a moment to be proud...

I don't post here very often anymore, but I am celebrating success today.

Today marks two years since I got my weight under 300 pounds and I've kept it under ever since.

In October, I'll be celebrating "Wake Up" Day - the day I made the conscious decision to stop fooling around and take my health back. My wife and I kind of look at it as the birthday of "New Sayre." The date is October 16th - exactly 3 months after the birth of my daughter. Coincidence? Not entirely.

This got me wondering - am I the only person that does this?

June first was my official 2 years under 200 day. I have not made it a celebration, but maybe I should! Oh, and congrats on keeping the weight off too!

Two years! Impressive!

For me, wake up day was a doctor's appointment in November of 2010. I weighed the most ever and my doctor renewed my prescriptions and didn't even try to tell me to lose weight. That night I felt the weight of myself as I was lying in bed and thought that I am done with this crap.

Sayre, join the National Weight Control Registry which gathers data on people who lose weight and are maintaining that loss. Data is valuable, we can learn a lot. http://www.nwcr.ws/

Congrats to all of you! I'm still working on it but one day I woke up and thought... hey, I don't want to be "that fat dad" and figured I'd do something about it. Seeing some of the more successful weight loss stories on here is very motivating to me. Thanks for sharing, btw.

Same here. Now that marching season is over, I should have more time available to ride. I don't know if you ever get weekdays off, but I do my long days on Tuesdays. Reading down as close as I can to Philly before turning around and heading back. I ride into the city with my wife and get back by the time she's ready to leave. So it's almost like my job on Tuesdays, lol!

OK - so maybe it's less of a celebration and more of a remembrance, if you will. It helps me to remember where I came from lest I get complacent and go back.

I did 75 the last time, but I could do much more now that I know exactly where I'm going. I'm shooting for around 95 now. That's roughly Reading to Conshohocken and back again. The kid chills at grandma's for these days. That's too long a day for her.

Thanks to all of you for your inspiring posts. They help me tremendously.
