First 25+ mile ride

It's been a few weeks with the new bike and on average my usual outing is about 6-8 miles. And , as far as I see it , some moderate hills.
Well I decided that since I have lost 12lbs, I was gonna treat myself to a longer ride. I found a local website that maps out routes based on distance and ability. I chose a 14mi trip with some great views. I found my way to where I was supposed to start and set off on my ride. The directions turned out not to be accurate and before I knew it I had already gone 14m. So I decided to find a main road back towards where I came from.
I stopped in at a gas station to see how far it was to the main road and I was now already on it. I continued for 12.25mi which got me back to my car. What an afternoon. Exhausted but excited that my progress and ability is getting better. I rode the complete 26.25 miles in 1hr 50 mins. (4.2 min/mi)

Nice. Feels good, doesn't it. Pretty soon, you'll be posting about your first 50 miler.

Congrats! I too have just returned to biking after MANY years off. I started slow and soon was doing 10+ miles every night and was taking a 30+ mile route on weekends. Last week I did a 55 mile trip with a friend - that was the limit of my endurance so far.

Keep up the good work bro.

Congrats on your first longer ride. You might give a look to MapMyRide; it may list a number of rides in your area. You could also just go for a ride and map your own.
