Can't help but wish him the best.

Just found him on myfitnesspal.com from the same period...
If he was honest on that, well he was over target on intake and about 1/3rd on output.

So maybe he was presenting here, as he had wished he was, or rather as he wanted us to see them...

From there well, his results are much more inline there.

I do hope he comes back and gives it another try...

I believe people can still read through it and learn about the physiology and tactics of getting healthier and losing weight, regardless of the OP's "success" or not. Eventually it will probably disappear, but I don't think we want it closed. This is one of the threads that is part of our heritage as a C&A family.
I'm gonna try not to be too philosophical here but, there's a lot of us who have lost a lot of weight. You ever wonder if we're not yelling at OP; but our former selves? All the work we put into losing weight; had we just made better decisions we might've been out of this mess. Then it's like a lightbulb comes on and we realize, that it's not that complicated. Cut the intake, up the output. So we see others struggling with excuses, lying to themselves and others, and it reminds us a little bit too much of the guy or gal who used to occupy a lot more space than the current version?

Just a thought. Formerly-fat people can be the biggest jerks to fat folks I know. With only a handful of exceptions, nobody is more cruel, most of the time, to an obese person; than someone who USED to be obese.

Although I wish this thread had less random shot-in-the-dark calorie counts. It doesn't work that way. Calculate the amount of calories you need for your height, weight, age and gender; and then continue to re-calculate every 10lbs or so. This is a proven extraordinarily effective way. Some tweaking may be necessary. i.e., if you don't lose, reduce it by 250/day, etc.

I can only speak for myself: No. First of all, when I was heading towards my heaviest (265 lbs. at 6'2") I knew exactly why I was heading that way and new exactly what needed to be done. There was no lightbulb moment. I just needed to make the effort and make it seriously.

Second, at some point I lose all tolerance for excuses, denial, incredible claims and the inability and/or seeming unwillingness to listen to sound advice and reasoning in any situation, not just one related to weight loss. I appreciate that not everyone starts from the same knowledge and education base, but after you have been given enough sound advice and knowledge you don't get a pass from me if you continue with the same old song and dance, seemingly ignoring that advice and not embracing the knowledge given to you.

TRUTH! When you lose a lot of weight people notice. And I've had a lot of people ask me for advice, expecting some deep Jedi wisdom. The first thing I say is: "I'm happy to tell you what worked FOR ME. I can't say it will work for you. And if you don't think it will then I won't be offended." I've had too many people say "This is the ONLY way you will EVER lose weight", and there's nothing that is less effective for me.

And this also. I've seen more threads than I can count where people come on here, ask us (the collective group) for our advice, get pretty consistent responses from just about everyone, and then start debating us because it's not what they wanted to hear.

This is what I tell my kid:

and it probably applies here, as well.

Are you familiar with the "breakfast sandwich" thread? Many years ago someone started a thread looking for alternatives to the two fat-laden, high calorie breakfast sandwich he was eating each morning. A bunch of people suggest some very good alternatives. The OP shot down each one for one reason or another. It was really like he didn't want to make a change at all.

My signature is from a post in this thread. It sums up my feelings succinctly.
