Back in the Saddle

It's a long story, a medicine for blood pressure that caused a person to be short winded. And a doctor that said I was just getting old. I went from cruising at 24-25MPH,(Opps 14-15) heart rate at 150, and feeling fine; to I can't get my heart rate over 110 because I can't breath!

Been off that medicine since March, in May I went out of country for 3 months, and did a lot of walking.

Today was the first ride in 4 years that I felt one with the bike, and could work at riding hard. A long road ahead to get back where I was, but a journey I have started. And will complete!

Good Luck Sammy and I'm glad you can get back on the bike. Scary thing what some medicines can do to you.

Welcome back Sammy. Sounds like a horrible journey for the past few years. Glad you are turning a corner and getting back to where you were. Stay determined. I had a similar journey, but was only off the bike for about a year. Do you have some goals in mind? How long do you think it will take to get back where you want?

If he's easily cruising at 24-25 he clearly wants to get back on the pro tour.

Are you sure your current symptoms don't include memory loss?

So, when you were pushing it, you were spinning along at 31-32mph?

Probably the same one that caused me the same problem. The worst part was that I caught a cold after I started taking it, and couldn't get rid of the cold. It took an antibiotic and I wound up with permanent lung damage. It isn't serious or sever, but I don't appreciate it anyway.

I went back and did an edit. Should have read 14-15mph. Goals, yes. Ride my age next year, and drop below 200 pounds.
