I did it, Posted to CL looking for others like me.

http://redding.craigslist.org/act/3305944614.html

Well after reading about how much fun the SoCA group is having I broke down and posted a add to see if any others would want to do a Clyde/Athenas adventure type group. I thought about just cycling, but we have so much to do up here. I hated to only have one trick.

May be if this takes off we could car pool to other groups for fun and others could come here.

If I can get a couple interested this way I will invest in a Meetup group. I just could not see spending the money just yet. I did look on Meet up. there are really no Clydes/Athan groups out there.

I hope you find a group to train with. I really do enjoy our SoCal group. It is so motivational to get together and ride with everyone.

I enjoy our SoCal group except for this one guy... always whining about his hamstring. Maybe your group will be more friendly.

Clyde rides are kinda strange. You don't sign up, they just write your name on the list then tell ya you're going.

Great idea. I would also mention that it would be a good place for those who may not be C/A, but just getting back into a fitness program. No pressure, very supportive, fun, non-judgemental....hit all the things that people are scared of with stereotypical "group rides".

See if your local Jenny Craig/WW/Lindora/whatever would let you post a flyer.

I had posted in the description that if you where not of this weight but wanted to join that we always welcomed new friends. I have talked to a LBS shop that is under new ownership (they are tuning up my new to me MTB) and they would like flyers, So I need to get some made and spread them around.

LOL no, I just started pushing buttons and playing with it. I need to get a picture of Mt Shasta up and another (most likely the back of my calf and trail runner going down a trail.)

Not yet. I have been out riding and I have not even see another Athenas out there. I have talked to a couple riders ( one yesterday was trying to draft off me on the bent, scared the hell out of me when he said hi right next to my left ear) they said that they don't see many overweight folks out riding. It's sad. I will keep on going and who knows, may be some day soon.
