150 Plus Mile Club: October Edition! Time to Slip on the Warmers boys and girls!

Well well well..... hello October! Cooler month then July for sure. Leaves turning, wind blowing, and crispier temperatures.

It's time again. Time to mount up and ride.

This month is a little different. I want you to pick a number, a number you would regularly pick and then add 5%. That folks, will be your new goal for this month.

My goal: 400 miles plus 5%= 420 miles.

Who's in???

Iron Chef: 420 miles

islandseas 09-30-12 02:32 PM

I'm going to be on jury duty for probably 2 weeks of October so I have to lessen my total. I'm going to aim for 200km and hope to be able to do more.

islandseas - 200km

I was going to go for 160. I'll round that to 170.

your're a cruel taskmaster... but ok...
september goal : 400, actual: 479.1, but finished the month feeling kinda beat up.
how about I split the difference, so 400 + 10% : 440 for October...

Shellyrides 09-30-12 03:49 PM

Well sense getting so sick the day I did my TRI I have been half afraid of getting out there. I did not even make my 100 last month. So I am in for 105.

Think you should round that out to 220.
;0)

Jury duty means a new commute by bike!

otg 09-30-12 04:20 PM

I'm in for 250, I mean 260!

nevermore1701 09-30-12 04:36 PM

i came short on my mark of 400 last month ended at 379. ill try to go for 410 this month \m/\m/

krobinson103 09-30-12 04:49 PM

According to Endomondo I hit 1630km last month so I'm going to drive for 1100 miles this month. That should be about 1760km. Got some long rides coming up so it shouldn't be too hard to pull off. :)

rangerbill 09-30-12 05:02 PM

Oh for crying out loud inflation is everywhere. September admission for this club was a flat 100. Now for October You want 150 and a 5% surcharge on top of that?:50:

Gonna work me to death but count me in for 157.5 (150+(150x.05)=157.5). I was happy with 118.5 last month and was thinking 135, but I pay my bills. :thumb:

very impressive. 1100 miles for the month? Nice. remember you have to add 5%! :)

You commuting I assume as well? My best month, I think was about 800 miles which was tough as he11 to get.

Dad 2 3 09-30-12 05:08 PM

I met my 500 mile goal last month, but was thinking with it getting dark earlier my evening rides will be much shorter. I was going to say 300, but since Isaac is such a whip ******* I'll say 350.

No Isaac I haven't got my lights yet!!

I am thinking 375 for you Dad. I know your miles. You cant fool a fool! We will go 375 for you. Let me write that down in my little "crack the whip" book! :)

cyclokitty 09-30-12 05:17 PM

I rode 130 miles in September. I'm gunning for 150 miles (or more, I'd be HAPPY with more) for October.

CBuff 09-30-12 05:59 PM

Chef,

You "tricked" me int a 450 mile goal last month and events conspired against me.
So, I'll sign up for 5% over my normal 400 miles goal = 420 miles in October.

Let's do this!

buckwheat987 09-30-12 06:20 PM

320=>336

I'll round it up to 220 but I have to drive another person to work before I head to the courthouse. Can we count stationary bike miles if I get to the gym?

Karen

goldfinch 09-30-12 07:19 PM

I am still basking in my 457 for September.

I am not sure what I am going to get as I am heading north in a few days and the weather may be iffy. I am not even bringing my road bike with me, so that will reduce the miles.

Eh, I can't even guess at a goal.

volosong 09-30-12 07:29 PM

October goals:
(1) to ride at least once every week
(2) two metric centuries
(3) one imperial century
(4) 311 miles, (500 kilometers)
(5) 9,843 climbing feet, (3,000 meters)

ytd: 2023.9 mi. - 100,176 feet climbed - 60 rides,
(3,257.2 km - 30,534 meters climbed)

yearly goal: 2,500 mi./4,000 km (210 mi./335 km per month), ahead of target

CraigB 09-30-12 07:42 PM

Too late. I've already been wearing long sleeve jerseys, or long sleeve compression tops under my short sleeve jerseys, full-finger gloves and my wind-proof shoe covers on my last 4 or 5 rides and it's not even October yet.
