October 6,000 foot climbing challenge

Just because it's fall doesn't mean you can slack off.

OK, how do I track climbing. I don't see in Strava or MMR where it shows a monthly total for climbing. What am I missing?

I'm in for 15Kft. Just missed last month due to travel. 400 miles at 40ft/mi should do it.

I use ridewithgps/mapmyride or Garmin that tells me the gain for the ride and log it in an Excel spreadsheet where I also keep my miles, AvgHR, MaxHR, Time, and Cadence.
It's useful, to me at least, to see what I'd done in the past and Excel lets you do so much with data (That's "datar" for our friends in the North East)

A quick glance tells me I have 4480 miles, 302 hrs and 260,455' gain this year. From that I can quickly get Avg. mph (14.8), Avg gain/mile (58') and if I like Avg. Grade.
15 months ago when I started this mess I'd never thought those numbers were possible.

View your profile, the climbing is nicely summarized in there. (profile is in the drop down box under your name)
