Cool, I just grabbed 2. It seems like every time I damage a tire I can't find anything that fits for a reasonable price.

Now I'll probably not use them until they dry rot. :notamused:

I have a pretty new GP4000 tire on my bike I bought about a month ago. I was planning to get one as a spare but Gina said get 4. Who am I to argue? :D

Thanks for the heads up Beanz. Just ordered a pair. Hopefully I don't have the same issues others have had mounting these on my Easton wheels.

A lot of it is technique. Ask Alyce, although nice, someone insisted on changing her flat for her. Had problems with installation, ended up prying the tire on, punctured the tube in 6 places! :eek:.......:roflmao2:

He started on the second tube when Alyce asked me to do it. I had to insist on taking the wheel as he started to pry in the seond tube as well. I took the wheel and installed it bare hands, no levers. It's all about technique.:D

Alyce has Easton wheels. ;)

You asking about the GP4000's or the Easton Wheels?

What's so challenging about Easton wheels? I have a set and although I can't get the tire OFF barehanded (used to be able to do that, talk about handy) I can certainly get it on again.

I have Conti sports on them right now and it was a PITA to get them on. Blistered my thumbs doing it. I did a search online and fount that I wasn't the only person having trouble mounting tires on them. The Vittoria tires I used to have weren't too much trouble to put on. It seems it's an issue with Continental and Eastons. Some people had trouble mounting Michelin tires too.

I'll get them on I'm sure. I just hope I don't end up with blisters on my thumbs...again.

Some tires go on easy, some don't. The ones that don't can be a real hassle, since they increase the likelihood of pinching the tube when installing the tire. One thing that sometimes helps is mounting the new tire on the rim without a tube and letting it stretch overnight. Doesn't always work, but I've found that some tires are much easier to install after they've been on a rim for a while.

P.S. use tire levers and you'll be less likely to blister your thumbs!
