The first 33 miles today were into an 18mph headwind. Total sufferfest. At about the 25mi mark the hills started. Got a little ways into the hills and realized I was getting into trouble. Looonnnnggggg way home, even with the tail wind, but major sense of accomplishment.

1/6 16mi MTB
1/8 32mi Hill Training
1/9 20mi
1/12 52mi First Half Century!
1/16 25mi
1/18 67mi! My first Metric Century!

MTD 212mi

kinetic, gratz on your first metric century!!

Ron, sad to hear of your mandatory break from the bike, hang in there mate - see you in Feb.

As for me, no update today! A bit sad, got up this morning briefly at 4:30am, took a peek outside - raining. So, changed the alarm setting from 7am to 8am to give it a chance to stop raining, but, got up at 8am, and still raining. Decided to have a bit more of a sleep in until 10am, got up and... still raining. This is very unusual for Singapore, where it usually rains for periods of 2-3 hours at most.

So, gave up on riding today, but spent a good part of the afternoon reading posts on riding in the rain, and at the end of it, had to come back to rule #9, and especially rule #5. Tomorrow I will be riding, come rain or shine!

Over halfway through the month.

I've done 6950m in the pool (139 laps, yowza). I'll hit my goal of 7500 next session, and have plenty of distance to spare.

I've done 114.6 mi on the bike (combining indoor and outdoor). Goal was 100mi combined ... looks like I'll crush that target before the month is over. Shooting for 200mi now.

I'll likely increase the goals for February.
