Where to add bottle cage?
I wasn't quite sure where to ask this question so I decided to put in the the forum I frequent the most.
I use my hybrid bike quite a bit, often hauling birding equipment in bags on the back and the bag on the front. I don't like to carry extra water in those same bags. Any ideas on where to mount another bottle and how to mount it? As you can see, my handlebar real estate is entirely built up. The fork and seat tube are carbon. The rest of the bike is aluminum with a fair share of scratches.

I doubt that seat post carriers will clear my rear rack.

I wouldn't concern yourself a lot about putting bottles on carbon seat posts, everyone including myself have something attached to them. I'd like to know why everyone thinks you can't. I vote seat cages. Just saw your next post about clearance, you could always strap one to your rear carrier or try a hydration pack.

I have used a hydration pack, which I really find a nuisance. So far, I have been strapping one on the rear rack but I did lose a bottle that way. Maybe I just need to figure out a better way to strap one on the rack.
Is there any way to attach a bottle mount to my seat stays?

There is no mount on the seat tube.
It is raining right now so I can't check, but IIRC even if I figured out another clamping mechanism there isn't enough room on the seat tube to put a holder with a bottle in it, even if it is side entry. This picture might show better how little room there is:

I wonder if I should just put a bottle mount on top of my rack. The bags I haul equipment in wouldn't interfere with the mount. If I wanted to do this, how would I? Just drill appropriate sized holes and put in bolts?

How about under the down tube? Looks like you've got enough room down there. Just get a cage that straps on and it should work fine.

Aha, that photo shows it much better. The previous photo made it look like it might be possible, but I see now that you're pretty limited. What about something like this, mounted on top of your top tube?

No cage mount holes there so I would need some kind of clamping mechanisms.

These let you add mounts to any tube or post https://www.cambriabike.com/shopexd.asp?id=120081

I've used the ones they sell at Walmart a few times before on bikes without brazeons and they work fine. About $6 w/ and alloy cage.

A few of you recommended the "Two Fish" cage with velcro strap to mount it. I found the cheapest one to ship and ordered it. We will see how it works. And, I can use it on my lawn chair if nothing else.

If the velcro strap one doesn't work well I will get the clamp system in the cambriabike link.

I've carried a small bottle or two in a pocket of my bike jersey. Usually it's a disposable bottle and I drink from it first. A frozen bottle feels great on a hot sweaty ride.
I've also carried bottles either inside a trunk bag or on top of it (attached with the trunk bag bungee cords).
Camelbaks are the usual solution to carrying water on a small bike frame; but you can also just put filled bottles into the backpak instead of using the reservoir.

In front of your seat post. Don't worry that it is carbon. Attache it with ZAP straps.

You could add it to the top tube, either under or over, could even put it under the current one, underneath the tube. Another option is a cage that attaches to your pannier. All of that and more are mentioned in this thread: https://www.bikeforums.net/showthread...-cage-pictures

Duh.
On the top tube didn't work, I don't have enough clearance to straddle the bike. This works perfect. And, I had the perfect heavy duty velcro strap in my rv box of miscellanea.
