My smoothies are kind of heavyweight smoothies packed with fibers, more like thicksmoothies half wheat bran the remaining half with fruits, vegetables... so that it takes hours to digest them. No need to worry anymore about how many can go into my stomach

checked gears, and ease of use/cleaning at BBB. The plastic gear drive stuff is a turn off but there were some regular blenders with metal drive gears and a VitaBlend as well. Just can't drop that $$ for the VitaBlend right now since some personal stuff came up. I did find an old blender and it worked OK for a blueberry, pineapple, strawberry test run as well an apple. If it works on greens and seeds, then I will pass on the new gear. Other notes - have to clean right away or there could be some hard to deal with issues later. Blending hot soapy water seemed to do the trick.
Lastly, a flick in the forehead to everyone who mentioned Kale. Thought to give it a try and saw a vid of crunching it up with some salt to 'tenderize' it then a little dressing and some other toppings. Anyway, it tasted like lawn clippings smell but easier to eat. Couldn't stop sampling.
