Trek 7100 for 400 pounds?

So, one of our new Clydes lives not far from me, and does not yet have a bike. When I started riding again, I found a good deal on a pair of used Trek 7100s. I thought my wife could ride one of them, but it is too tall, so alas, I have been stuck with a backup bike. The 7100 has a suspension fork (that you cannot lockout), aluminum frame, and 700x35 tires on 36 spoke rims. Quick run down from Bikepedia- http://www.bikepedia.com/QuickBike/B...e#.UQsIgL_hrB8

Can it work? and just as importantly, if it is going to fail, what is the weakest link.

I think it would work fine. Weak point would be the wheels, but they should be fine for a while.
