Yeah I realize they are not for every one but my son and I decided to get a mutual cycling themed tattoo. Had a friend make up a design then went to a reputable Tattoo shop and discussed the particulars. I had to sign a waiver along with my wife plus convince the owner of the shop to allow a under 16 year old to get work done. Anyway it was a pretty neat experience, I would be lying if I said it didn't hurt but it was a small tattoo so didn't take too long. I think they turned out great.

Not my style to get a tattoo but once long ago, a SoCal rider had some temp tats made up similar to those in the pics with a SoCal cycling emblem. Pretty cool 30 rides all with the same tat!

Not a very reputable shop though, if you could convince him to break the law. He could lose his license and/or go to jail.
And on the forearm ? Junior can say goodbye to about 75% of any decent jobs in his future.

They are not temp and thankfully employers today are not as backward thinking as shadoman. Tattoos are way more mainstream than not if we hired based on tattoos we wouldn't have a workforce at my place of employment. They look temp as they are brand new.

He is pretty young though to get a permanent marking imo. Heck, when I was 21-32 I did nothing but play softball leagues and tournaments. I had plenty of buds suggest I get a related tat on my bicep. Glad I didn't as my taste in hobbies changed. But I guess that can happen at any age. If he later goes UFC, he can just have the tat covered with an UFC symbol

You may hate me, but I think it looks like he's shooting fire from his butt. Without the leaf, I can see the draw.

Of course, I'm not a big fan of tattoos. My brother is completely covered in them and I think maybe 2 or 3 of them are decent-looking.

WEll, if they were "Brand new" they would look red and raised, which is not the case .
If you said they were "just healed" it would be a bit more convincing, as they have a glossy flat look at that stage.
And, being a tattooist/piercer with 30 years of experience, I'd hardly refer to my statement as "backward thinking."
It's being completely realistic.

I believe youcoming is from canada so i am sure the laws are different but in @35 us states tatooing a minor is legal with parental consent and presence.

Picture taken three hours after work was done, maybe you were to hard on clients or maybe the new equipment is easier on clients. It's not like I have a reason to lie about it. Lol all other comments are taken in stride it's ok to say you don't like it but to call me a liar, that's just wrong.

Actually, I said I DID like the design.
I don't believe anyone in this thread has called anyone a liar at this point.
But, Do your tattooist a big favor, and DON'T tell anyone he tattooed a client under 16.
It could do serious damage to his reputation.

Because having ink precludes him from wearing long sleeves? Seriously, I've got plenty of friends inked from shoulder to knuckles, and they've had no problems getting decent jobs; legal assistants, architects, engineers (mech, civ, elect, and comp.) My wife has visible work not only on her forearms, but also from the nape of neck going up and covering her head (although, she only keeps the sides and back shaved now, not her entire head.) She's an information architect with Microsoft and has presented internationally at tech/telcom conferences.
Much of the business world has changed and is far more accepting of ink and other mods than in the past. Sure, there are some fields which will likely not change; I don't necessarily see a hospital hiring a chief of surgery with a mohawk and neck tattoos, but even a Fortune 500 CEO can get away with long sleeve dress shirts to cover any arm and torso tats for the work week.

And in most of those states, the definitive minimum age is 16, as it is in Ontario.

It's done, but I can almost guarantee at some future point one or both of you are going to wish you had mad a different choice. I won't go as far as regret, but if you had it to do over again, you would not have gone forward.

Tattoos are cool, I know, I have a few myself. That being said, I heard a saying a long time ago and it's stuck with me. Put them where the judge can't see them.

You have recanted "brand new" to being "Picture taken three hours after work was done" which is much more realistic, especially if the tattooist used a very light or pneumatic machine.

+100. I have a half sleeve and work as a computer/electrical engineer in a very conservative office. I wear short sleeves all the time with ink peeking out. Nobody blinks an eye when they see it. Perhaps its because I live/work in Southern California.....

I realize tattoo attitudes are much more relaxed in Canada ( especially Toronto.)

For all of you stating "My Boss, My Wife, etc." You all are very lucky to have employers that are forward thinking.
If you have a good degree and are specialized, it's easier.
Many of them may still tell you that their Boss "prefers" that they always wear long sleeves.
Here in the Midwest, you can have problems getting the most menial jobs with forearm ink.
Many places have no "long sleeve" option to their uniform. So, (if you're lucky enough that they still hire you,)
you work every day looking like a burn victim with bandages over your beautiful work.

I doubt if ill regret it I've wanted one for 25 years but was never passionate about anything except my favorite hockey team and I wasn't getting that done. On a side not if 5-10-20 years from now my done doesn't like it, well get it worked over. Lol

Nice Tats.. as far as getting a job, yeah that was the old way of thinking , now days if your fat you have to worry about a job. Ink not a big deal
