Just a little off topic climbing stairs

It was decided a couple of guys in the shop were going to walk the steps up to the pilot lounge I work in a hospital The pilot's lounge is on the 11th floor plus the ground floor and basement equals 13 flights . I'm 5'11" 309# 51 years old Tommy is a little bigger but 30 years old and joe is a runt . I was mentioned I wouldn't make it Ok? The younger guys took off up the stairs . I started plodding along At the ten floor I caught up with them On the way out to our cars I was doing just fine the 2 that though I wouldn't make it were sore, so much for the fat old guy not making it

Yup D.O.M.S. (Delayed Onset Muscle Soreness) can be the ROYAL B !!! In the next 24 to 48 hrs. If not too sore in A.M. Would be a really good idea to do a REALLY EASY spin, to increase blood circulation to flush out cell debris, lactic acid, waste products, etc.

I worked on a tower for about 3 months, 400 feet of straight climbing. At first, it was 45 minutes. At the end, I could do it under 20. I was the lead guy for the project, and making 4 or 5 trips a day up that ladder was not unusual.
