New Toy

So I was out this past Saturday and LBS to my suprise was closing abruptly (Owner very ill ). Any way manager told me he had some cheap Tifosi's left ($12) Figured why not. Girlfriend asked about the lone bike hanging from the ceiling. Apparently it was ordered months ago. Upgraded to 105 as part of the order and the owner has yet to return a call since well before new year. Well needless I was told I could have it well south of $1000. How could I say no? Looks like all I need is a longer stem and all is good for fit. Now I just need to slim down to fit all the shiny white. Oh and I do have a set of ultegra/open pro's (364,32r) since I do not forsee these as the ideal clyde wheels, but they are purty with the 4 white spokes mixed in. Oh and I got 2 pairs of tifosi dolimite's as well.

Not sure i followed your post but you said something about the owner had not called...if that shop is in financial trouble and in fact someone else paid for that bike, they just illegally sold you someone else's property.

Not saying that's the case at all, but keep in mind, if that is the case that bike belongs to someone else, and could be taken by a bankruptcy judge or the police and returned to the rightful owner and you would only have a civil case against a bankrupt business.

Sorry did not want to get into to many details. Shop closed due to ailing health of owner (terminal). Closure was very sudden, like one one day closing the next. The person who should have the bike only ordered it with out paying, I guess just small deposit. They have yet to hear from the person in months even after leaving messages. Basically I bought the bike and they will give the deposit back if they can ever get hold of the person.

Now if it would get above 20 here in Chicago I could ride the thing. Just ordered extra cassette for ultega/open pro's tonight along with a longer stem. Sadly had to go with the Bianchi stem just because it matched paint scheme best. haha

I picked up a shop orphan Bianchi 1885 ALU a few months ago. It's the bike of my dreams, having wanted a Bianchi for decades. I was happliy surprised as to how much nicer it was to ride than my old standard Centurion I got new 27 years ago....completed my first 50 mile Tour on it last weekend. It seemed like I was the only one on a Bianchi there...in a sea of Giant/ Trek/ Specialed riders. Enjoy many happy miles on your great bike!

Thanks all. Still waiting on Chicago's sub zero wind chills to break. Did buy a nice pair of North Wave matching shoes tonight. The 5 year old Shimano's were shot. Oh and just as an FYI North Wave runs wide which is great for me. It is like going from wing tips to slippers.

PhotoJoanne has bunion issues. Could NOT find a comfortable pair of riding shoes to save our lives. Ordered a pair of North Waves and they are the most comfortable riding shoes out of everything she tried....and she tried EVERYTHING! Hasn't solved all of her problems, but it was a great move for her!

Most business if you look at the custom order form state that the merchandise ordered becomes property of the business after some period of time. In most states you have between 2 months and 12 months to claim your item before the business is able to reclaim it.
