The weather finally gets nice, and I immediately break a spoke!

I've been riding in crappy weather for a while living here in western Washington, but this week it got really nice out. 60's and sunny. Well I was out on a nice 40 mile loop ride and broke a spoke and had to limp home with a wobbly rear rim. I took it to my LBS and figured I may as well get a full tune up while it's in there. Now I won't get the bike back until Wednesday. So much for a week of beautiful weather riding.

I'm considering buying some better wheels. This is the second time I've broken a rear spoke. Those Velocity Deep V's are looking pretty good right now!

Me too! Last week I broke a spoke on my trek - first time in 3 years. And after riding in rain/snow and ice. The LBS charged me $30 and replaced 3 spokes - a bargain. I went for a 25 mile ride today on the bike path and she rode like a dream.

However, it was a rear-wheel fix and I dont think I re-mounted the wheel correctly onto the bike. I have a 'slight' rattle now on changing up and a slight delay on changing down. Used to be very snappy.

Pretty day today but sure was windy on the ride back to the car. Not as nice a day as this guy thought it was though (Low 60's)

Happens to the best of us! I wound up on my road bike with a derailleur that wouldn't shift so I had dropped it off at the LBS and figured I'd just take my MTB out instead. Sure enough I went out on the MTB and wound up with a busted derailleur on that one, too! I was ready to scream!

...And so I didn't have ANY bike to ride!

My road bike is my only bike, so I guess I'll go running or something.
