Bike generator Kickstarter

I'll be funding them. I've been debating a generator for a while and this seems like an easy to use and install one that will also make getting a trainer really worthwhile. Mainly I'd want to use it to extend the life of a GoPro on the bike so I could get more than a couple hours out of it.

That looks interesting, particularly for the long distance touring crowd. I'm not seeing the Africa connection though.

For your uses, what do you mean "will make getting a trainer really worthwhile?"

P.T. Barnum... IMHO

"This means your device is always safe, even if you’re screaming downhill at 30mph!"

...screaming...and 30 mph in the same sentence.

Lets see... I am funding a startup and get one of the following "promises"

$35 - a spiffy (expensive) t-shirt.

$85 – ...receive the very first Atom generator packages—at $20 off full retail price...

$95 – ...Get the Atom generator package—at $10 off full retail price...

So I get a better deal on the vaporware if I pledge $85 rather than $95

Count me in! (End sarcasm)

Let's see, the heavy end of it is unsecured and inside the seatstays.

I can just imagine the gleeful smiles of local wheelbuilders as the cyclists who hit potholes and had the thing bounce into their spokes start streaming into their shops.

That is a seriously poor design. They couldn't bother putting some sort of quick-release latch on the battery pack to affix it to the seatstay?

While I think the technology is cool, and the heart seems to be there, the execution is rather messy.

But I think the crowd they are going after is more of the enviro friendlies. And Apple product owners....bleah....

I can see the appeal... Hmmm... Interesting...
