Clyde Ride - My Bridgestone RB-1 with S&S couplings (lots of pictures)

I just got my Bridgestone RB-1 back from Bilenky Cycle Works. They added S&S couplers and re-powdercoated the frame. The bike is a 1991 Bridgestone RB-1 (originally green and white.) I used the retrofit as an opportunity to upgrade to Dura Ace brakes and a quill adapter for an Ahead Stem from Velo Orange. Since the stem and adapter were polished aluminum I also upgraded to a polished seat post. Since my old one was worn, I decided to add my NOS Selle Italia Turbo Special saddle. About the only change I am considering is switching to a White Silca Impero frame pump. Since I have resisted brifters (and the bike is still a seven speed) the Silca seems like it would fit.

I have not actually traveled with the bike yet. But in the next few weeks, I will be in Memphis, San Francisco and Connecticut. I'll report back after 'First Flight'. You can read more about my bike adventures on my bike blog - http://www.abikelife.com.

I have thought about it. This was originally a green and white RB-1 but red was the other color in 1991. Probably not because the decals will be pretty fragile when traveling. I fly about 25 weeks a year so thaty's why I chose powdercoat over regular paint as well.

Beautiful bike! I'm always amazed at how distinctively good looking the couplers are--form following amazingly close to function!

Totally under stanr if you're flying that often. I've been keeping a look out for a yellow rb1 in 56 but super rare I guess in that size cuz no one wants to give it up!

Total including return shipping S&S case and all the accessories about $1400 from Bilenky.
