First ride on new bike with picture

My bike finally arrived. I got it home tonight and took it out for a short 12 mile ride. Wow what a difference between this and my comfort bike. I think I did this trip in half the time with this road bike.
This is only the 2nd time I've ridden a road bike and I think I'm really going to enjoy it.
Thanks and as promised here is a picture at the turn around point of trip tonight.
Jim

Sweet pic... :)

Congratulations! Looks like a nice bike.

SeanBlader 05-10-13 11:32 PM

Woot! Looks fast!! I'm excited for you!

iTrek 05-10-13 11:33 PM

Nice looking bike.

volosong 05-11-13 12:11 AM

Wow! How sexy is that?

The BIKE ... that is. I'm a guy. That's a Madone, right? Not the Domane. Which model? If you are into GPS, the DuoTrap is really nifty. Hids inside the weak side chainstay. You don't need a Bontrager computer, any ANT+ will work, (e.g., Garmin).

Nice ride! Nice location!

lenny866 05-11-13 04:40 AM

It is a Domane. Series 6 project 1.

You picked a good color scheme. If you haven't already purchased them, I really like the CatEye spoke magnets. The Bontrager ones are of a silly/stupid design. But, I really do like the Bontrager crank band/magnet for recording cadence. They did that one right. The DuoTrap is so ingenious and elegant, I often wonder why other manufactures haven't used that design. Maybe Trek has a patent on it or something. The Garmin deluxe heart rate strap is crap. The lesser expensive one is actually better. I use a Bontrager strap. They work okay, but I had to replace one after about 18 months of use. Expensive little suckers.

Enjoy the bike. That is one sexy beast. When your tires wear out and if you replace them with 25mm ones, you'll be amazed at how much more comfortable the Domane will be than it is already. I test rode a Domane once, and came oh so close to plunking my cash down. They are nice. I wouldn't be surprised if Domane sales surpass the Madone eventually. Madone for the racers and the Armstrong wanna-be, Domane for the masses.

Nice bike! And I low the fact that your picture is out on the road (and not up against your garage door... ) :thumb:

I agree with everyone--that green is sweet!

Bunnicula 05-11-13 04:02 PM

Nice looking bike! The Domane was a good choice.

You can easily tell them apart by the fork, if you can't make out the seat mast. Domane. ;)

I might be getting myself one next year if we can swing it. Really like that seat isolator setup they have since I prefer the long mile rides.

bbeasley 05-12-13 11:21 AM
