Wheel master WTB wheels?
Hi folks,
Anyone tried these wheels? I am north of 250lbs and need a cheap wheel set! It seems that even if my pocket were larger, I would still have this issue... But I am a 6'4 dude that weighs about 250 and just looking to build a basic classic steel frame roadie. (Peugeot) Here are the wheels that I am considering http://www.bikemanforu.com/products/...set-black.html Any thoughts/experience? TiA! |
The rear is likely spaced for 135mm.
The tires that are intended for them (622-28/40) may be too large to fit in your frame. You probably want to look for "road" wheels, not Hybrid. Also check the spacing on the front. A lot of older bikes have <100mm spacing on the fork. They DON'T spring well! Some front hubs will have a 2-3MM spacer on each side that can be removed (and shorten the axle) to make them fit. |

This should be a much better set.
The CR-18 rims are quite stout. http://harriscyclery.net/product/shi...c-set-1678.htm They'll true & TENSION for $20 additional. Money well spent, and you're still $10 ahead. |
