Garmin Edge 800 @210 after rebate/ free shipping

Thought some of my clyde/athena brethren might be interested in this.Western bike works has the edge 800 at 310 right now and garmin currently has a $100 rebate thru the end of the month. Makes the 800 cheaper than a 500

The bundle with street maps, cadence sensor and premium heart rate strap is only $429 ($329 after rebate) as well... Wish I had the coin.

Awesome deal! I jumped at it. I love my 705 but I've been itching for an 800 for some time now. After rebate the 800 is $210. If I get $100+ bucks for my 705, its a screaming deal for the 800

Thanks OP!!!

wow! glad I waited a few days before buying a new garmin. I was between the 510 and 200, leaning towards the 510. this deal means it is $20 dollars cheaper than the 510. sweet!

Thanks OP.

Thanks for the heads up! I pulled the trigger on the deal. Will hand off my Garmin Edge 305 to my son who is now getting into cycling.

I just hope they're an authorized dealer! I went ahead and ordered one.

Thanks ahultin, you scurvy knave. I can't even ride right now and I'm buying bike toys I don't need.

PS I think you can get the cadence sensor and the regular HR sensor strap for less than the difference in cost between the bare garmin and the kit.

you can get both for about $50 if you are careful on Ebay... I got my speed/cadence sensor along with an ant+ usb2 stick (sells for about $25 on ebay alone)... already had the HRM from my old FR50 I got some years back... but I see you can get em for about $20 used

Cool, thanks!

As for the sensors, I have those from my garmin 500 so I'll just keep 'em.

I'm thinking about getting this, but one thing I want is the ability to add a cuesheet and have the GPS follow it. Does this unit have that feature. I know it says I have to pay street maps, but I'm not sure how much that is.

yes it can do that, but I think you have to buy the map card.

You can either buy Garmin city navigator or use open streets which is a free open source map. If I recall, there is a decent guide of how to set it up on ridewithgps

I plan on getting the garmin city xplorer map. it's 9.99 per city. so, LA is the one for me. only $10, so not a big risk if I don't end up liking it.
