Hey fellow 200+ pounders!
I've been a member of the site for almost a year now, but have only posted in the hybrid forum. I currently weigh 215lbs, but weighed about 300 at my heaviest. About 7 years ago I decided that I had enough of being a big guy. I got myself a membership at my local YMCA, started busting my ass at the gym, cut out the sugary drinks, and watched what I ate. In a little over a year I went from being 300lbs to 185. After I got my weight down, I started focusing on strength training and gained about 20lbs of muscle. So I've managed to keep the weight off and I now float around 215lb. I plan on getting myself back down to the 200 mark though by stepping up on some of my bike rides.
I used to be really into BMX when I was a kid, but as I grew up, I kind of got out of the cycling scene. Last year I decided that I wanted to get back into riding mainly for recreation and a little bit of fitness. I went to a few of the LBS in my area, test rode a few bikes, and decided to buy a Specialized Crosstrail Sport. It's been a great bike! I'm not sure how many miles I have on it, but I'm one it whenever I get the chance!
Like I said, I'm not new, but I just wanted to drop in a say "Hi!"
