In spite of knowing that there's nothing wrong with it, I have to answer honestly...I can't bring myself to even consider tights. I'm fine with my t-shirt and cargo shorts.

Sometime's it the conditions and circumstances you ride in which dictate what *you* will feel comfortable enough to wear.
For example, I couldn't care less and would welcome cycling shorts if I took place in a bike ride or race or even touring; but because of the conditions of my work, and the support I've received from my company, I wouldn't deem it appropriate to walk into (and through) the office with spandex shorts. It's not the co-workers that would be my deterrent, but the clients that seldom wait in a sitting area for meetings; which unfortunately I have to cross to reach my dressing room. I've gotten away with shorts and gym pants with t-shirts, but spandex won't cut it, especially with the clients which are usually high-profile people who don't understand the benefits of cycling to work.

For me, the best solution is and will probably always be cycling underwear with a nice assortment of shorts.

Most of my coworkers wouldn't bother me, infact I jest that one day I will wear my lycra cycling shorts to work, just to show off my buns. However there are a few ladies that work here and I wouldn't want to have to pick up the ladies that have fainted at the hotness I bring.

this morning I cam across some printouts I made for some shorts I thought would be good for me. I'm a clyde but on the lower end of the qualifying scale. regardless I thought I would share these because one or more of us might like using one or more of these. Actually I think I got these from other postings here but I'm not 100% sure.

Don't need to feel embarrassed to wear bike shorts when cycling! The people show and express any strange reaction are weirdies ! They may not be cyclists or have any contact of this sport. Just ignore those people !! How can you will ALL people in the world !??

Feel like to do whatever you feel like to do in your limited life. All of sudden, anything can happen, seize the happy time with your friends, family and buddies !

Enjoy cycling !! it never dies !!!

Thank you

A few rides will cure that...

I do when I commute, which I try once a week.

Worse, the shower is in the building across the street.

I'm tempted to wear shorts over at least on the walk across, but it's still hot.

I love that they make cycling skorts for women. I haven't seen them for men, yet. I wonder if ultilikilt will do something?

Having worn a real kilt on a few hot sunny days, I'd have to hope a utilikilt would be more comfortable.

They just joined the forum and are obviously spending time reading. And, sometimes it's not a bad thing to re-kindle a conversation. I'm pretty sure that if they started new posts on some of these topics, a bunch of people would be saying "SERIOUSLY ...wth? Use the search function."

+1

I do things my way, others do them theirs. I don't judge.

Yeah but he/she plucked an over one year old thread and just joined in like it's still a live conversation... no questions, no "hey I was trying to find"

Just weird, that's all.

Strange. I'm right near 210 and find in Champion Systems bibs size large to be the most comfortable. I also have a pair in 2x that were misordered and I did not notice the size until several months after receiving them....... I knew the whole time they were on the large for me side but I was also 240 at the time. Most of my shorts are xl in size for Primal and I think just size large for PI but can't really remember, I was 250 ish when I bought the PI and they have been comfortable ever sense.

When I first started riding last year I felt uncomfortable in public in bike shorts. Now after dropping 140lbs, I'm comfortable going for rides in just bib shorts and tight rash guards. Also, when I go to group rides, I feel comfortable now wearing this to the registration table, into a bike store, because pretty much everyone else is dressed the same. Even bought me a loud bike jersey at the last group ride to use at the next one
