New Bike (Frame) Inbound: An Update

This is an update on my "Not A Good Way To Start The Morning" thread from Saturday morning.

LBS Called this morning and said that the Domane frame, rear derailleur, derailleur hanger, and rear wheel have been shipped from Trek so I should have it by early to mid-week next week. $60 charge to transfer remaining parts from my mangled Madone and I'll be ready to roll. I'm excited, but I still miss the Madone. I can't quit feeling like a man who just shot his horse. Weird.

But, anyway, that's where we stand for now.

Good deal! $60 for the swap, that's a great price.

Beanz, I hadn't even thought to ask them that until you had mentioned it. I'd have paid a couple of hundred and not b*tched, but 60 is WAY better. lol

Thanks, guys.

I'm happy for you but my question is: what if you hadn't wanted a Domane? I mean if my Roubaix failed and it was a warranty claim I wouldn't want a Tarmac instead.

Jaki, Trek offered me the choice between another Madone frame or a Domane frame. I talked it over with the guys at the shop and decided on the Domane. So it was my choice.

Thanks! I came out pretty good in the deal. Plus, I'll have some parts from my now deceased Madone on the new bike so, for me, best of both worlds.

Fan Frickin' tastic my man!!!!! I'm glad you got hooked up under warranty. I've been kinda worrying it a little. I was hoping you made out. Now I see you are. BTW you'll love the Domaine. They are a sweet machine indeed. I just purchased a Rubaix for myself. Glad you'll be back in no time. Let us know how you like the new frame.

Thanks, Phread. I'm getting a little more excited. I got some bad news today, though. Apparently, my LBS doesn't check their e-mail as regularly as they could. I went by today and they went to check the Shipping Status only to find an e-mail from Trek asking them to contact Customer Service in regard to the Warranty Claim. Naturally, Customer Service is closed on Saturdays. Sigh. The warranty has already been approved so I'm sure it's about something "important" like color. Man, I don't care what color! lol. So, it'll be Monday or Tuesday at the earliest before it's actually on a truck. A little aggravated because the LBS told me Wednesday that it had shipped but these things happen I suppose. Patience, patience.
