Sat GMR Ride with Hillbasher (7/20/13)

Same ol GMR ride to the shack, 8 mile climb with 2300 ft. Crazy Hillbasher hasn't been on the for 9 months but he was happy to get on and head up GMR. I figure we'd do a nice cruise up since neither one of us is ready for a climb but he did it and made it look rather easy. I know if I were of the bike for 9 months, I'd be struggling just to sit on the bike for 5 minutes much less pedal.

Nice day for a GMR ride, cloudy and cool. Didn't see the sun peek out till we were near the top. LOTS of riders up there today. I guess some event going on. We stopped 4 miles up for a stretch and in a matter of a couple of minutes we saw gangs of riders roll by.

As I always say, the GMR riders are a different breed. Much more encouraging riders than other places we ride.

I'm more about not wanting to clean the bikes. My personality will not let me clean the bike without having to clean every spoke and crevice. So just to avoid some unwanted work. I never should have gotten rid of my beater buggy. :D

I have a few ride buddies at the coast that have mentioned other riders know them by name and say "I know you, I've seen you in Mr. Beanz videos". :D

Thanks for watching! :thumb:

The dude driving the van was cool. Looked like one of them Jerry Garcia types. He passed us very cautiously earlier on a climbing section (6 miles earlier). He was very careful and went he rolled by, he waved at us with a big smile. So catching back up later on the descent was cool. I figured he'd move over so when he did, I gave a thank you wave (you can see my hand leave the bars in the video). ;)

Now that I agree with - I went for a ride in the rain in December... ugh. I did it on purpose too, double ugh. :D

I actually ahve some wipes I use to just get light dust and dirt off the bike so I don't do a whole-hog cleaning very often. Freaking white bikes! :(

Thanks! You should, it's pretty cool! Very different than the flats and if you take your time, is very enjoyable.:D
