    Wish me luck!

Later tonite im going with my local bike club on their tuesday ride. Unfortunately for me, this ride has a large amount of climbing (for me anyway).

May god have mercy on my soul

I think im getting stronger, so im hopeful that i'll be alright. I did a 36 mile ride last night with 1600 feet of climbing, and am happy to say I climbed just about everything seated, while the other two riders stood.

What don't kill us will make us srong!

I used to hate climbing... now I hate flat rides! There is an incredible sense of accomplish after climbing a steep hill... some words of advice... climbing is an individual sport... do your climb and don't worry about keeping up with others and their cadence... find what cadence works for you an work on a nice smooth pedal stoke. Don't worry about falling behind... nice thing about being bigger, catch those skinny wienies downhill!

Idk if this is just me, or sorta applies to all clydes, but yesterday during our 1600ft climbing ride, while my two buddies were standing during the climb, I could stay seated and maintain their pace [speed] (mostly), and I didn't have to waste any of my ''matches'' ta-boot!

For today's ride im being tactical, I printed the cue sheet and marked where the ''climbs'' are so I don't accidentally overwork myself when the climb is just after that next bend (this always seems to happen!)

Im beginning to like climbing because i'm getting slightly better / faster / stronger

Hills are right up there with interval workouts as good payoff in fitness improvement imho. The more you embrace either the faster and stronger you will get.

Hmmm. Getting stronger is good. Getting lighter is too. Elevation profile is not showing up for me, though it says 2900 ft. I have found that the actual elevation is about 65% of what RWGPS displays, around here at least. Keep up on the flats, stay in the slipstream, and don't kill yourself trying to keep up on the climbs. If you get dropped, plan on shortcuts.

I have found that as I get stronger I can stand for longer periods. I try to be more of a technical rider, that means standing at opportune times, usually when there is a short increase in grade to keep the momentum up. I climbed a "bucket list" hill for the first time Sunday, and is provided a lot of opportunities to do that. I surprised myself in how well I did. (57-215 lbs)

    Good luck!

As much as you paid for that Beemer [Mercedies, Audi, Escalade], I'm surprised it didn't come equipped with turn signals.

I lucked out, they cancelled do to impending doom (rain), however I did some hill training on my own.

    These are my routes
    Did this once

    And this twice
    http://www.mapmyride.com/routes/view/252091815

I was going to do this as well, but It's about 7 miles from my house (the above routes are under a mile from my house), and I could see a nasty storm cloud heading my way (I actually saw wannabe storm chaser type people taking pictures)

All in all, good ride, total distance 16.6miles. We'll see how the ol' legs feel tommorow
