Many thanks to all for all the inputs on my question. I know a very great deal more now than I knew a few days ago...

Zippy---Thanks for the lead on the Ted's Cyclery series of saddle videos. They're more and better info than I found in a couple months of stumbling around on my own.

Joe M---Many thanks for your input. Comparing my "vital stats" to yours--our weights are the same, I've got 1.5" on you, you've got 5 years on me, prostate scenario=identical, and the "no longer young or fit like 50yrs ago" thing is the same, too. I am however still working on the "no longer stupid" thing. At any rate--due to our profile similarities, your input is especially germane to me. I spoke with a CS rep at ISM this morning. She steered me toward their Breakaway model for century use, but also suggested the Prologue and Typhoon models. I'm leaning more toward the ISM line right now than Selle An-Atomica because ISM looks like more cutout and more durable structural integrity than the Selle. Now I go into the meditative state and face "decision time"...

A vote for Serfas RX!

I had it's great, great granddaddy from the early 90's and was afraid I couldn't find any like it when crash damage caused it's retirement.

I love the new one more.

ps. I'm 6' 265...
