Used bike help
Was cruising CL and found this add.
https://charlottesville.craigslist.or...979000758.html
It looks to be a 2008 model. Looks a little dirty and shows some wear which makes me wonder about how well maintained it has been, but when I looked up the specs on it, it seemed to have what I've been looking for.

Assuming it is not too beat up and everything is in working order, and that it fits me size wise. Do you think this could make a good first road bike?

looks like a great bike for $400. Also a larger size bike, like a 58. I'd assume you're about 6ft tall if you want to be comfy on there. Stem and seatpost can always be swapped out for a better fit.
I'd change out the cables, bar tape, and fresh tubes for any used bike I buy. And a good cleaning session.

No I'm a short, round guy at 5'8" so it may be too big for me. I don't know enough about bikes to tell how big it was from the pics. Still might be worth taking the ride over to look at it and see how it feels.

whats your inseam? The owner of that bike looks to have a 33-34" inseam but longer torso and arms to run the 130mm stem. Just guessing but you'd need a 90-100mm stem and 0 set back seatpost to make it fit you better.

My measured inseam is only 31 inches so this may be just a little big for me. Guess I could always attach some 2x4 blocks to the pedals, or find some platform cycling shoes . I still may send the seller a email to find out the dimensions or the bike.
