Is This Bike Strong Enough For A 300lb Clyde?

I'm looking at this bike:

I'm not concerned about the frame or wheels too much, it's the fork I'm wondering about. It is a composite carbon(?) fork with an alloy(aluminum?) steerer. I'm not rough on bikes at all, but carbon kind of concerns me being a heavy rider.

I would say that looks to be about the most clyde specific "road bike" i've ever seen... the 35c tires are a great size for around town and dirt paths... the shimano Claris is supposed to be pretty decent and the 8 speed is nice and strong... the gearing is nice and wide 11-32 out back and 50-34 crank... avid BB5s arent anything amazing but they are good entry lvl mechanicals, and the wheelset is a nice standard 32h...

the only thing that I myself would question is the CF seatpost... I'm sure it's fine but with the compact geo I have A LOT of seat post sticking out... for peace of mind I'd splurge on a thomson (can get em for about 50 on ebay)... but in reality like I said it is prob just fine with the stock CF.

the gravel grinder class is a pretty neat class of bike and I can see a lot of clyds going with them.

Well, one of the first things I told them at the LBS was that I would want the seatpost switched out if I decided to pick it up.

700x50... comes out to 1.97" wide so a narrow 29er tire... plenty for light trail use

I like the looks of that bike. Reminds me a lot of the Salsa Vaya 3 I almost pulled the trigger on last year, but in aluminum instead of steel. Had my Salsa dealer carried something like this (or even my local Giant dealer), who knows? I might be riding on of these. No matter. I am happy with my choice. I can't imagine you would have much problem with the CF fork.

That's a similar bike to what I created building from a Surly Ogre frame. I like the result. I'm running 40mm tires on mine and I like the ride. Nowhere near the concern for what I run over.

I am looking at new bikes as well. Did you happen to make the purchase on this one? Let us know how it is! I am a 400 pound clyde but my trek 830 from 1994 still holds me today quite well.
