Is 200lbs the threshold to be called a Clydesdale or Athena?
Is this demarcation line the standard? Is this an unwritten rule?
It is obviously specific to biking, but being 6'3" 200lbs and 5'9" 200lbs are different animals.
Is there a forums site devoted to horse jockeys that has a subsection "Clydesdales/Athenas (100+ lb / 62+ kg)
It cannot be a standard to bicycle racing as most pro's would be considered heavy at 180lbs.

Getting older and slower!
In triathlons, Clydesdales are men 220+ lbs., Athena are women 165+ lbs.

Where did the 220lbs come from? It's been 90kg/200lbs for eons.

We should not be hung up on a hard number of pounds or KG. It's more about body type. If you are one, you know you are one.
I'm 6'2" and fluctuate between 215 and 230 lbs. I'm one, and I know it. If I get below 200 lbs., no one will mistake me for that 2012 tour winner pictured above! I'm just a big guy.
Proud to be a Clyde.

WRT weight limits I prefer to think of it at "are now or ever were". I'm VERY proud to be a Clyde (started reading this group when I was 270) though I've managed to get below "the limit", now 190.
Once a Clyde, always a Clyde!
