Starting my shopping for tax return time

I am looking for bike recommendations for me as a big man that will continue to be good through weight loss. I am a fan of Trek, my current trek has never failed me. I understand that wheels are the weak point and getting custom ones is probably needed. From the reading I have done I have ascertained that pretty much any bike frame is ok in aluminum or steel, should just steer clear of carbon fiber. I want disc brakes on my new one.

Someone posted a picture of a clyde worthy looking Trek when I first joined but can't seem to find it anymore. Any ideas?

That looks like a good candidate; strong wheels, wide tires.

Trek makes good bikes, but so do Specialized, Cannondale, Giant, Felt, Scott and some others.

Do you think that those carbon fiber forks will be an issue?
