Thank you
Just wanted to say thanks to the Clydes and Athenas forum group for the inspiration and encouragement. Got on a bike and off the couch this month, and it is definitely working. 161.44 miles added to the clock (pretty much is the clock at this stage). 11.7 pounds taken off the rider.
So, thanks for the inspiration and the help. Matt |
Congrats! keep up the good work. remember tough it's YOUR ride so don't fall into the trap of HAVING to outperform someone else or even yourself. I personally really enjoy riding, it's one of the few physical activities I really do enjoy. If I push myself too much more it becomes something that I don't want it to be, a physically painful chore.
So keep it up, enjoy yeorself, push yourself till you feel it's about all you can handle and then just keep riding! |
Wow, well done.
As a side comment, find some friends to ride with in your area. At some point you may feel like consistent riding is drudgery, and companionship goes a long way to minimizing the feeling that it's a chore. |

Congrats, I think around 10 lb. per month is about perfect for weight loss. I'm down 30 pounds since June, about 10 pounds per month. Started out with eating better the first month and added biking for the last 2 months. It's a lot of fun. I was in the woods on an overgrown quad path last night after dark. Had about 6 miles to go on the end of my ride that I rode in complete darkness other than just two flashlights mounted on the bike. Just me, the deer, and I just know Sasquatch is up in the hills watching me :D

Yes, very well done. Long-term REALISTIC goals are great to have. Sounds like you've got that handled, too.
