I'm going for 200 miles this month.

September was a real disaster; it rained for 7 days and I was sick most of the month. My goal of 300 miles wasn't reached, I only rode a bit over 100. But, I'm going to try for some good rides this month, although the weather here in the PNW turns very wet this time of year.

I'm planning my first ride in almost a week this afternoon. The rain finally stopped!

I did 333 mi in September, but there were 5 Sundays, 5 Wednesdays, and 4 Fridays (my riding days). October only has 4 Sundays and Fridays, and 5 Wednesdays, so even increasing my Sunday rides to 50 miles only yields 353 miles, so I guess I'll make THAT my goal:

353 miles total. So far, 18 down, 335 to go!

10/6: 83.9 so far this month. 269.1 to go.

Ugh. That 300 looks so daunting this early in the month.

10/2 - 12*

Total: 12 miles

*fixed gear rides

I did a quick ride so I could get home and watch the first game of the Buffalo Sabres NHL season. Not good- lost 2-1. But still, the weather for the ride was superb and I did a sporty 14.9 mph average on my fixed gear.

Yay! First ride of the month, 14.2 miles. It was windy, but sunny and cooler than a few days ago. At least it wasn't raining, like it did for 5 days in a row. I need some new cool/cold weather bike clothes, the stuff I wore today was at least 30 years old and too small.

Goal: 200 miles
MTD: 14.2 miles

yet another night ride my normal loop plus an extra bit, took my time today... I'm not sure what was up tonight but there was a lot more traffic than normal but still a lot nicer than the day time... temp was amazing as well in the upper 70's... also saw my Dr. today and she's very pleased with my blood pressure and weight loss progress... only on one blood pressure med now and look forward to seeing what happens as my fitness improves.

A ponderously slow ride with the wife to dinner, 6 miles out, 6 miles back. Her first ride in a couple weeks and it showed; the hills just about killed her. The headwind on the homebound leg didn't help. It was a good bike date though, nice Italian place.

It was a nice day to ride. It warmed up to 60*F this afternoon, so I went for a ride, 14.3 miles. Surprisingly, my average speed was much higher than usual, 15.3 mph. It could be that the wind wasn't blowing as hard as it usually does or it could be the new tire I put on the front!

Goal: 200 miles
MTD: 28.5 miles

It was another great day to ride. The temp was about 66*F and the sky was mostly clear. I rode 21.2 miles on a road with rolling hills and a couple of significant climbs. I'm trying to get my strength back after being sick all of Sept. My legs let me know how much conditioning I've lost in the last month or so...

Well I had planned to ride early today but the fog was heavy and the roads were covered in wet leaves.. Did 5 miles on the spin bike. I did manage to get out for a 10 mile ride in between the kids soccer games. 55 miles for the month. Tomorrow will be a long ride in the morning, I hope.

This was probably the best riding day of the fall. From here on the high temps drop about 10*F for the next 10 days. So, I got out for a little 16.2 mile ride and it was GREAT. I would have liked to have ridden more, but I had to run errands all morning which cut down on the available time to ride.

Goal: 200 miles
MTD: 65.9
