I'm looking at a Specialized AWOL frame right now (http://www.specialized.com/us/en/bik...-comp-frameset), which seems to meet most of my criteria for a winter/rain bike. However, one thing is throwing me for a loop: It's got a split seatstay, so you can install a belt drive on it.

Does anyone know if a design like this compromises the strength of a frame for clydesdale-weight riders?
