Right now I'm at 321.1 for the month. I have 2 more days to ride this year as we're leaving for vacation on Saturday morning. I was really only planning on getting about 275 so I'm already beyond my goals.

Got out for a couple hours today on a trail that I haven't hit before. Ran across something very odd. A steel cable with a bunch of 55 gallon drums rigged to it coming down the canyon toward the river. Any ideas what this thing is? Location is the American River in No. CA near Auburn.

Today's ride was part hike part bike ride. https://www.strava.com/activities/102237201 The trail sort of ran out and had to carry the bike over boulders along the river for a couple miles until the trail reappeared. Took four hours to cover sixteen miles.

I don't even remember... old age!

Maybe it was his laundry list of 90+ mile rides at 19 mph... that would probably do it.

More roller miles today, 13.1. I wanted to take my bike over to Oregon to ride today, but it didn't warm up in time to get in much of a ride.

Goal: 250 miles

Another fun filled session on the rollers today, 15.25 miles. I'm glad that I've got rollers or I would be losing the fitness gains I built up over the summer. I've got a trainer, but never use it.

Goal: 250 miles

.

Well, I'm not going to make it to 100 miles this month. Stalled at 91 miles, any other month would be at least double that. Hurt my shoulder moving furniture and have to still finish cleaning and moving out tomorrow so I didn't ride in tonight. Grrr, I would've preferred to ride. Next year is going to be better. Good riddance 2013.

Well, I hit 333 miles this month and I'm not going to touch my bike till at least Friday to let my butt recover... Here's to 2014 being better than 2013!
@IBOHUNT - you'd be proud, only 8,900 feet of "climbing" in that 333 miles.

402.3 MTD. Not bad for me. I would've gotten closer to 500 had I not had to leave town for 4 days.

I got out for a road ride down in Oregon today. I did a ride I found on Map My Ride, about 15.5 miles long. All I remembered about the ride description was that it was "great for a beginner"; I didn't remember the "challenging" part. If you consider over 2 miles of 7% grade beginner stuff, I must not be must not even be a beginner. I did it, it wasn't impossible, but it was a bit surprising and tough. The rest of the ride was cake. Next time I do the ride, I'll know what to expect. The first time, riding into the unknown, is always harder. Here's a link for anyone interested. You can play with the elevation settings and see the elevation graphically.

https://www.mapmyride.com/api/4p/Rout...16c24048889df4

If the ride were done in reverse, the climb would be very gradual and the descent would be thrilling. Anyway, I finished off 2013 with a great ride.

Goal: 250 miles
MTD: 218.15 miles < not too bad for being sick for half the month!

Now, ON TO 2014!!
