Heh. Today's revelation was that the grade really matters, no just the feet. When the world slopes up at 10%+, this ex-pat starts to really hurt, really fast.

RULE NO. 5 MUST BE APPLIED with more vigour, I fear.

I was riding with a group this past weekend. We hit some 16% stuff, albeit short, and the group was not very happy. I think the 'climb' only averaged 10% over a .6 mile. Some cross-training happened.

Failed to meet the target last month, 324.13 miles (v. goal of 350). Rides were of good distances but due to extended cold and not feeling great, there just weren't enough of them.
