While Leanord Nemoy's Spoke salute definately predates Mork and was always performed with thumb extended, I believe Robin Willam's Mork greatting was performed with both thumb extended as well as tight against forefinger. So, either may be correct.
Perhaps we need to consult Tunavic to find out which salute/greeting he was uttering while posing for the camera.
