Been off the bike since Sunday. ..

Wasn't sure where to post this, but being as I'm a definite Clyde, I figured why not here. Sunday night I experienced the worst pain is ever felt in my life from what I thought was appendicitis. A ct scan on Monday morning showed that it wasn't appendicitis but rather Colitis and an infection in my ileum, which is in the area of the appendix. The colonoscopy on Tuesday proved this to be the case.

I'm feeling nearly 100% since taking the prescribed antibiotics and steroids, and I'll finally be able to return to work tomorrow.

On Saturday I had taken my bike to the lbs to have it equipped with Avid bb7 disc brakes, but because of the health issue I haven't had the chance yet to try them out yet. I suppose I'll be a good patient and follow doctors orders to not do anything strenuous while on the antibiotic but man I can't wait to get back to riding.

Definitely follow the Doctor's advice and stay off of the machine til he gives the OK! You'll have plenty of time to break in those stoppers. Get better, dude!

On the bright side, the weather here,Bakersfield, has been garbage. I have not rode since Tuesday morning. With the wind and the rain, I have been jogging, walking, or on the trainer.

Follow your doctor's advice and don't ride until he gives you the OK.

Then, shoot me a PM and we can go for a ride. I am also in Bakersfield and always looking for someone to ride with. I ride both road and MTB bikes as well. I typically ride my road bike during the week. I will sometimes ride my mountain bike through the almond orchards out by my house in the northwest. On the weekends, I try to get in one long road ride and a mountain bike ride out in the foothills.

See Ya round,

Brandon

I'm with everyone else: Follow Dr.'s Orders!

I had stress fractures of both tibias and tears in both soleus muscles... I stopped running for about 6 weeks (thankfully the Dr said biking was fine as long as there was no pain), and have been on a C25K rebuild regimen. So far so good!

Thanks for the replies everyone.

And @B888s, you are right, with the way the weather has been I suppose I picked a good week to get sick.
