At last!

Finally, I got out to do a decent ride today. My first 100k of the season. It was a little over distance and I cycled to and from the event, so bumped my longest ride of the year from 40 miles to 112 miles. Woot!

100k or 100 miles? You English with your mixed standards. Don't get me started on stones either.

But I digress - :thumb:

Your avatar has been amusing me for three and a half metric years now, also :thumb:

Both... the organised part was a nominal 100k (but slightly overdistance so actually a little shy of 120k), and because I cycled to and from the event my total for the day was 112 miles, or about 180km.

Glad you like the avatar :)

I watch a lot of youtube riders in the UK and I don't understand why they use KPH but talk about miles?

But I know what you mean. This was our first day above freezing since summer last year....ok that is an exaggeration but you get the point! I rode to work and was WAAAYYYYYY too over dressed...sweated my family jewels off!

This would concern me! Use velcro to reattach until things sort themselves out.

We're somewhere between imperial and metric. I prefer imperial myself but randonneuring uses metric so I set everything to metric and mentally convert to imperial on the fly.

Normally at least we'll use one or the other - kph and km, or miles and mph. Since I was riding to and from a brevet (in km) but prefer miles I mixed-n-matched a little. So I did a 100k brevet which was actually 120k and by the time I'd gone there and back it was 112 miles. If you prefer it was 180k all in :)

When I set off I was considering wearing a warmer jersey, and by about 11am I was wondering if I should have worn a lighter jersey. On balance I think I made the best choice - I was hot for parts of the ride but opening the zip and letting the wind cool me on the descents was very nice :)
