Today is supposed to be rain and (surprise!) snow showers in the forecast with 15-20 mph winds.
I did 6 miles on the trainer then decided to take the dog for a walk (2 miles). On the way home I saw these ducks in someone's flooded yard. It still wasn't raining or snowing so I jumped on my bike & got in 4 miles. Would have gone a little farther but it started to rain. We're up to a balmy 41°.
Felt good to get outside though. This was my 4th short ride so far this spring, all done this week.

A slow ride on the Black Diamond Trail today with a friend. Did the full length, and then back. It is amazing how much more difficult the northbound direction is with such a minor grade, but we had a good fulfilling workout on the outbound leg, and a fun ride on the return.

I question the accuracy of most reports of elevation gain, so I don't tend to look at or record them. However, by the nature of a river, I would expect some elevation gain, otherwise the river would not be flowing. In 5 miles, I wouldn't expect 390 feet, but a small gain would be expected.

Getting ready to ride this morning and wife's back tire flat, it had a 2 plus inch tear and of course tube busted. Not sure how this happened as it was fine last ride a week ago. After new tire we did get in a good ride.
A little over 17 miles this month no chance for 100. However its great to be on a bike again. A few more adjustments and accessories to get everything lined out.

I'm going for 100 this month.
4-3: 14.1mi - Memphis Hightailers "Urban Legends" Ride (my first group ride)
4-6: 7.9mi - Did my first "Brick" - ran intervals for 30 mins directly after the ride (pouring rain)
4-17: 13.5mi - "Urban Legends" Ride - Had a flat & no spare, so I was stuck on 40lb Mt Bike
MTD: 33.5/100
-I need to do some catching up!

Got in 9.5 miles today, trying to increase a little more each day. My 22 yr old daughter went with me. She is very active & is probably 100 lbs lighter than me but I had to keep stopping for her to catch up .
It was about 48° F & sunny but I think my new theme song is going to be "against the wind". LOL!

Wife and kids went shopping on Saturday, so I headed out with the bike in the back of the car. Wanted to ride a trail I rode last year but didn't start at the beginning. 12.x mile trail, so I got 25 miles in with the out and back. Slight grade, but I can't believe with removing the tunnel how RidewithGPS tells me it was 1020 feet climbing. The grade is like 0.5% from one end to the other and downhill the ride back for 0.5%. Elevation shows 967 at the trail head and about 1250 at the turn around point, so I'll use 283 feet.
I should have gone another wheel revolution as my clock was stopped at 1:59:59, LOL.
I did well on the way back cruising about 18 mph until I hit mile 21. This is where I hit a wall last year on a 26 mile flat ride. After that mile 21, my legs just wouldn't push any more and I ended up slowing down to about 10-12 mph.
Yea! That puts me past the 100 mile mark and puts me past 10 hours on the bike for the month.

Rode the Greater Hazleton Rails to Trails today. The trail was a little rougher than I like in sections, but it was a great ride. Did the full length round trip
04/20 - 8.06 miles
MTD - 68.29 miles
Distance to Go (monthly) - 31.71 miles
YTD - 78.24 miles
Distance to Go (yearly) - 921.76 miles
I expected to pick up my miles later in the month, which I am doing. This is the first time I am slightly ahead of pace to meet my goal for the month.

was at San Diego Sporting Goods| Firearms | Archery | Gear | Big Shot killing time with my buddy after we picked up the CHP report. They had some cool stuff in there and sales guy pretty much sold me into getting a recurve bow once I heal up. Easy to set up the target at the desert or backyard and have fun for fairly cheap buy in. My buddy was like no he needs the compound bow setup

4-20: 13.3mi - Basic training route. 15.9mph avg (shooting for 16+ by 5-17)
MTD: 46.8/100
