Hi all, I have been MIA for quite a while! Unfortunately a motorbike accident put me out of action for quite some time last Aug. My foot is still not quite right, but started to get back into it last month with 453km (281 miles), so this month I'm going to aim for 750km (466 miles)

MTD 78.8km (49 miles)

Glad to be back!

photogeekgirl 04-03-14 08:03 AM

I'm in, although I'm new and just got my bike on Sunday! lol So I won't be posting nearly as many miles. My goal will be 50 miles though!

Everyone that wishes to cycle starts somewhere. Congrats on the mile! Although riding with children can be frustrating it is also very rewarding. enjoy the time on the bike. I look forward to reading about your journey.

My goal is 750km. It's going to be tricky, since it's now track-day season, and that'll eat weekends and I've a week for work in NorCal. I didn't exactly cover myself in glory with my first ride of the year, either.

it's pretty close......if I get into a open spot for the BWR challenge

thinking out loud.....
600 miles
35,000 ft vertical
15 miles running
2 centuries
1 double metric

trying to plan my ride for today after work and thinking of how much time I really want to spend using my lights after the sun goes down or what area I will be when I do have to use them is more important.

Running should be 10% of your cycling miles

FIFY.

How about you there, Mr. No Ride? You gonna be able to pedal this month?

Slayed me son.

Not allowed to ride a bike till mid May. Makes me madder than a 3 legged dog trying to bury a turd on an icy lake.

Got a run I signed up for on Sunday. We will see if I can do a "couch to <not saying just yet but it's NOT a marathon> in two weeks" deal.
I was inspired by the book Couch to 5K in 9 weeks training plan.

TrojanHorse 04-03-14 02:27 PM

you guys have weird dogs up in them mountains... Mine just leaves turds wherever. if I'm lucky, she doesn't accidentally roll in it and I don't accidentally step in it.

it's part of my 100 step program, trying not to have any run longer then 5k this month. As much as I want to do longer lunch runs, I need to ease back into it so that ligament doesn't go haywire on me again.

Thank you! I did get in 3 miles the other day, but that technically wasn't in April! lol I think I may have to just do some rides in the evening when my hubby gets home, because I would like to go faster than my daughter on occasion!

Didn't know you had a haywire ligament. Easy on it.

quick night ride... awesome low 70's temps, a bit humid (rained off and on all day) and 14mph winds... those fenders kept me nice and dry when hitting puddles and 42c tires are nice and cushy...

That's a tough one to ride through. That's all ice. Looks like I'll be riding just 11 miles total when I go to the trail for quite some time, LOL. I was hoping to do more then last year's 12 miles in an hour daily with the new bike.

oh my god that is fantastic!! hope people don't mind me quoting this photo it's superb - inspirational! is that Pennsylvania?

Yup, Pennsylvania.

4/1 - 11.8 miles on the flat bike trail with my daughter
4/2 - 11.2 miles on the same trail taking the camera up to attempt some shots of that tunnel (failed as I said, Take-a-Look mirror I didn't realize was blocking the flash, LOL.

April Total - 23.0 miles.
