No riding for the past two days due to rain, no riding again today as you see in the photo below. I signed up for a 25 mile ride for June 1st, getting a little nervous. I've only been out about 6 times, my longest ride was 9.5 miles.
UGH! The snowplow is going by as I type this....Someone posted this on facebook: "April showers bring snow plowers!"
On the upside, tomorrow is supposed to be sunny.

You still have 5 weeks, and hopefully you will get some good rides in during May.

5 weeks ago I had virtually no miles, and I am going for 32 on Sunday. My long ride so far has been just over 17 which I did last weekend. With a 9+ mile ride already, I think you will be able to cruise through the 25 by June 1 as long as yu ride whenever weather allows.

You go girl!

I was able to get in 7.25 chilly miles after work today. My toosh & toes were quite cool when I got home. Looks like mid 30°F to mid 40°F tomorrow morning before the rain starts. Need to increase my miles a little more.

I had to look back to see your previous posts. You were riding last year, but on a Walmart mountain bike? So was I. You bought a new "real" bike for this year? So did I Last time you rode before getting back on here in April was October? Pretty much me too (well, November for me and I had 2 rides in March I think.)

I think you can do 25 miles easy come June. Well, not completely easy, it may wear you out, but I think you'll do fine anyways. Last weekend I just went on a 25 mile ride, but by myself, and I only have a handful of rides so far this year. I started biking just last year in August, and even then, I had a 16, 18, then a 26 mile in on the Walmart junk and only rode 3 months total until winter hit.

Like I said, I rode 25 miles last Saturday. I did push the whole way and did die out at about the 21st mile, or at least my legs gave out to that I could only do about 10 mph (was running 18-20 for the entire ride back until that point.) You'll have plenty of time before June arrives because, sheesh, this weather just has to quit sometime, LOL. My furnace is still screaming alone in the evenings, through the night, and in the mornings, but it has to break! (the weather, not the furnace! Had enough of that the past 2 years...)

Hope the weather breaks for you, over in Ohio, right? Because when you have weather, I'm getting it in a few hours over here in western PA. Stuck in the rainstorm right now, which is why I didn't get to ride tonight.

Mtb Race on Wednesday night. Wasn't feeling great and didn't have the horsepower in the legs to stay up with the lead group. Sixth place.

Rest of the week was just commuting. Yesterday's trip was the best! I had a bunch of stuff in my backpack, including two new 29er tires, was cool and raining hard, car plowed through a puddle and soaked me, and I had a flat.

Mileage for the month is up to 560.

Rode the Plymouth levee to loosen up for tomorrow's 32 mile ride, which will put me over my goal fore the month.

04/26 - 3.61 miles

MTD - 80.57 miles

Distance to Go (monthly) - 19.43 miles

YTD - 92.03 miles

Distance to Go (yearly) - 907.97 miles

I have been setting my monthly goals for the rest of the season in a spreadsheet, and I think I will be revising my goal for the year... I just need to figure out what makes sense for me. It will probably be at least 1500 miles... looking like 1750 at the moment.

Funny how you picked up on those similarities. I got my Wal-Mart bike July 4th & my longest ride last summer was 18 miles. I'm about 60lbs lighter now than I was then so that plus a better bike has make riding a lot more enjoyable.
I'm actually in No. Maine & the winter just does not want to go away. We're supposed to have rain the next 4 days so it will be the trainer for me!

Another 47 miles.

That puts me at 290.3 miles towards my goal of 275 miles for the month!

I should put in nearly 30 more miles just commuting to work and back before the month is out, it might have to try and squeeze in a few more miles to make it a nice round number. It looks like I maybe should bump my goal up a bit for next month, then again, I did put in nearly 100 miles other than commuting already...
