5/10 - no ride. Oldest daughter's college graduation - manga cumlaude! Yes, I am proud of her. This kid almost flunked out of middle school.
5/11 - 12.2

I'm in... I will get 150+ this month.

5-3: 25.7
5-8: 4.5 - got dropped on a "no drop" ride, then slung my chain doing 25mph+ trying to catch up...
5-10: 3.7 - flat. On the bright side, I had a nice 2.3mi run to get home.
5-10: Purchased 2 tubes, repair kit, bike pump... lol!
MTD: 33.9/150+

5-10 only added 14.3 miles. Discovered mid ride that my derailleur hanger was bent so had to detour to LBS to straighten it. They solved my problem and I was able to help them solve one they had.

Developing a great relationship with your LBS is the best advice I can give any cyclist. True that they get plenty of my money but I get so much free support I do not mind paying sticker price on most items.

Right. Back at it, after work travels and trips. All the tubes replaced with airlock, and I'm going tubeless on the road bike as soon as I kill these Gatorskins.

May 1 -- 6 miles, 614' -- farming goats heads on the mountain bike. SO MANY HOLES IN THE TUBES.
May 3 -- 31 miles, 2,221' -- to the bike shop for more (airlock) tubes. Sick of the goats heads
May 4 -- 51.6 miles, 2,648'

And now, the Strava climbing challenge kicks in. Out of town all week for work, so 3 days instead of 5.

May 9th -- 31.1 miles, 3,501' -- how many little climbs can I make
May 10th -- 40.1 miles, 3,494' -- out with the girl and then some hill ('neighbourhood') repeats
May 11th -- 33.6 miles, 3,711'

This officially makes it my climbingest week ever, which is sad given I only rode 3 days, and almost the most feet/mile I've ever done.

193/400 miles
16,204/20,000'

14.3mph AS; down a chunk, but there's good reasons.

Took a very short ride today out to see the Amgen tour coming through town. Location is Auburn, CA.

Six leaders headed towards downtown Auburn

The Peloton three minutes later

My daughter liked the Jelly Belly car ... I liked all the nice bikes on the roof rack.

My goal for May is 100 miles. I rode 21 miles this weekend and am sitting at 48 miles this month to date.

Nothing hurting so hopefully next month I can set the goal a bit higher.

My ride today resembles that remark, but in miniature. I was swearing the whole way home with the constant 20-30mph headwind and gusts, though.

Both are pretty good size, measuring about 3 feet long. From what I could tell from a safe distance, the king was taking the battle.

Yikes! Glad you kept a safe distance. I'm always scanning the sides of the road for moose, deer & bears. They will just wander into the road.

I ran over a copperhead last year. It was in the fall and didn't see him stretched out across the trail in the leaves until just as I was about to get him with the front tire.

Beautiful weekend and feels like it was completely wasted. Played plumber all day Saturday working on the bathroom tub leaky piping and played gardener all day Sunday. Wife said I could ride and she and the girls would just run to Home Depot, but I had stuff I needed also. A trip to the store is a half day adventure for us living in the middle of nowhere.

Wow, I am VERY late to the party this month!!

Last month I hit just over 970km, so this month my target this month is 1000km.

I am a bit slow in kicking it off though, so far, MTD 284.3km and a bit of work to do!

I have another target this month. As of this morning I am 118.2kg, I aim to be 116kg flat by end of the month! I am so sick of being back at this weight! I was much lower before my motorbike accident last August.

Speaking of accidents, good luck with your recovery jsigone!!

Not liking this 1 ride per week. Beat the rain, a little drizzle the whole time and started actual rain as I got back to the car. Rode the bike trail last night. First time to the tunnel since it was filled with ice. All the ceiling brick was cleaned off and smooth sailing through.
