I'm about 25 miles in this month. Planning on getting a Fuji Gand Fondo Ultegra next Monday, then Tuesday getting the pedals and helmet.

And I'm thinking about one of them GPS things so THEY can keep track of me.

Ouch! Went back out to that same road last night. This time I went out to the beginning so I could ride the whole road. Where I started from last time, looked like it came down a nice hill from where it starts on the state road. Nope. There was 4 more rollercoasters in there before I came to where I connected to it previously. Fun, yeah! Rough, for me, certainly. Ended up with 18 miles which is the longest on the roads (previous longer distances has been on flat trails.) I'm sure it's not much to some of you folks, but it was 1262 ft in the 18 miles. I think the majority of it was on the road heading back. I was exhausted. Boy that road is a blast to ride though.

6/3 - 11 miles
6/5 - 9 miles
6/6 - 10 miles
6/7 - 15 miles
6/10 - 18 miles

MTD - 63 miles
YTD - 343 miles

Been working a lot lately, so for the past couple days have only been able to get in my 10 mile commute. Well, I guess I lied. I was able to ride 10-11 miles on monday in addition, but not riding yesterday seemed weird. First time in a couple months with an additional ride!

Anyways:

MTD: 174 miles/400 miles (According to Strava)

Really though, I'll be disappointed in myself if I don't reach 500. So new goal: 500 miles.

New MTD: 174/500 miles (Almost 35% there! lol)

I rode 245 miles last month, SO, I think that I can do 400 miles in June. I have about 145 miles as of 6-10-14. My plans are for 300 miles on the road and 100 miles on rail trails. We're doing the Black diamond on Saturday.

Ah, yeah. Lightning, hail, a tornado spotted.... I didn't ride tonight....

Stinks because my bike shorts came today and I wanted to give them a try.

6-10 11.4 miles a mix of a short warm-up on the trainer plus more warm-up on the road for Bike Fights at my local Pub. Took 4th for night, 3rd for season.<br>6-11 28.0 miles after having my fit adjusted. Saddle moved up and back slightly giving me a more aggressive riding posture. My fitter thinks I'll be able to capitalize on some increased power due to my weight loss as well as take care of some lower knee discomfort.

6-12 15miles in the mist. Got home just before the light rain started. The mist added 5 minutes to the ride.

mtd 40 miles

I am surprised by how little cals are burnt during riding (on another thread here) compared to what lose it indicates. 1.3 hour ride at 10-11.9 mph burns 847 cals on lose it. I have to stop counting the riding in my total cal consumption for the day. That should get me back on track of losing tonnage.

It's progressing, in middle of my physical therapy. Watching the local MTB weekday race series makes me want to ride a bike again.

Off next week on vacation and added today since my wife is off today also. Snuck a quick ride in this morning before the yard dries up enough to mow before the next coming downpour. Wanted to just hit the bike trail as I haven't ridden the Allegheny River Trail in quite a while. I get there and the entrance to the trailhead is blocked by a downed tree. No biggie, I parked out in the bank's lot and just tossed the bike on my shoulder and climbed over the tree. I wouldn't have just been able to toss it over my shoulder if it was the old bike. Another reason that I'm loving the Giant

I thought maybe the trail would be dry but it is tree covered and such was still wet. I thought the tires would kick up a lot of stuff on me but it didn't. The bottom of my downtube is prett filthy now though. Haven't had a chance to wash it because we are getting ready for a party tomorrow.

Had my first crash. Wasn't too bad as I was going pretty slow. There's a small wooden bridge that crosses a creek. I slowed to go by a guy walking 2 dogs and went through the barriers that blocks motor vehicles from the road that travels beside the trail for a half mile or so. The bridge is on the other side of the barriers and I never gave thought about it being wet. I went by the dogs, through the barrier and start to accelerate back up to speed as I got onto the bridge. I immediately spin the rear, wiggle a bit and it goes sideways on me. I use to be a pretty big hellion in the car in my younger days with street racing and playing on the back dirt roads and later a motorcyclist and the reflexes for countersteering when I feel a back wheel kick out are pretty quickk. I countersteer and the rear goes left. Countersteer to the opposite and I almost save it when the front just slides out and down I go.

Wasn't bad as I was just starting to accelerate back up. I slid across the smooth and extremely slippery wood on my forearm and leg. The wood is very smooth so I found no splinters in my arm or leg. Must have caught the pedal with my left shin as there is just a small little nick. I faired much better on the wood than if it had been pavement. I don't think it would have been bad on pavement either with the low speed, but I definitely would have gotten at least some road rash from it.

Bike was fine too. The chain had jumped off the chainrings and that's all. Started up again when my phone goes off. Figure it was the wife just getting up and wondering where I was. Pulled off the traiil to text her back and glance at my mirror on my visor as is starting to become automatic for me and, whoops, where's my mirror? Had to go back and find my mirror which I find laying on the bridge.

So, that was my mild excitement for the day. Rode a couple miles past the tunnel and back. When I got back to the trailhead, took a quick circle around town before going back to the car. Ended up with just over 15 miles. I wanted more but heavy rain was coming and my wife was probably already mowing and I had to get the trimming in before the rain came.

6/3 - 11 miles
6/5 - 9 miles
6/6 - 10 miles
6/7 - 15 miles
6/10 - 18 miles
6/13 - 15 miles

MTD - 78 miles
YTD - 358 miles
