I was curious how the Domane isoflex thing is holding up under the extended use by the Clydesdale set. I have been looking all over the forums and online and everything seems to be cool. The problem is there have been a few random comments about the flexible seat post greeting noticeably loose after a few months use. That is my big fear, and 100 positive posts go right out the window with one bad one. Maybe a Madone with a wider tire and some stem/handlebar adjustments could get to an acceptable position without worrying about the Iso-zone?

No problems so far on mine. I'm 285 and have been riding it since March.

I don't think a Madone will take a wider tire vs whatr the Domane will. 25c Madone vs 28c Domane.

My buddy swears by his, but I hate long head tube and refuse to pay 5k for their custom build w/ mid pack parts so I can have a shorter head tube "classic" version

I have had mine a 2013, 4.5 for just over 1 year, about 3000 miles or so. No problems and I really like it! I am 6' 4" at about 230 was maybe 245 last year.

If this description of the IsoSpeed coupler's design is accurate, it sounds like issues are unlikely... provided you don't exceed the frame's weight limits.

I'm getting ready to retire my 2013 4.5 in favor of a 2014 5.9 Domane. Final mileage count on the Domane (purchased in mid-August of 2013) is 8,318 miles. It was my daily commuter (44 miles per day, 7 days a week) and I did group rides, charity rides and Gran Fondos on it. When I first got on the bike I was 296 pounds and I've lost close to 60 pounds since then. I put some beefier wheels on the bike almost immediately (32-spoke Velocity Deep Vs) so I can't comment on the long-term durability of the Race or Race Lite wheels.

The bike will be ridden by my Uncle starting tomorrow and I suspect he'll be logging 550+ miles a month on it as well.

I am 305 lb and have been riding mine since late January. I have only tracked 475 miles on it though.

I purchased my Domane 4.5C last December. Was not able to ride it until April. I now have 700+ miles on it with no issues. I started out the year at 265lbs and am now 251. I also have the stock race wheels on it and have not had issues with those either. Keep in mind the roads here are in bad shape. In early spring, when the frost is coming out, the roads are very bumpy. To be honest they do not improve much in summer.

I also had concerns about the wheels, but the bike shop told me not to worry and ride on, so I did as I was told.
Have a 70 miler coming up this weekend. Will let you know if I have any issues.

They seem solid. Worst feedback I've seen suggest that they feel a bit odd; I experienced this test-riding one -- sharp front end, oddly disconnected rear end. But that's more the frame's character than a flaw; you get used to things quickly and this is essentially a suspended road bike. As for the durability -- Trek is a marketing machine (that you pay for, BTW) and sell a lot of these. If it's what you want I wouldn't hesitate.

I may hold off a bit longer to see if any new paint schemes roll out for 2015, I'd hate to buy one now and see something much cooler in a few weeks.

Does anybody know when the '15s are supposed to be out?

My wife has a '13 4.3 that she bought in Oct 12 (I think) and has around 7,000 miles on with no issues. I have a '14 that has had no issues.

Trek has already started releasing 2015s in their other product families (FX, Neko, DS). So I'd say "soon" (between now and September). Last year we were slow to get particular models because of Ultegra 6800 and 6870 availability so it's possible that the new 105 5800 may also create constraints.

There's two Domane disc bikes up on the Trek website listed as 2015s. A 4.0 and a 6.9, I've seen the 4.0 in my LBS and it looks pretty sweet. There's a few other 15 MTB on the Trek site as well. They just seem to roll them out in a random order somehow. In years past, it seemed that around the end of July/early August you'd see all the new schemes rolling out. I read somewhere that now it's more of a waiting until old stock is depleted before rolling out the new. That's why you'll see the Madone 2.3 webpage showing last years Blue/black right there with the new Dnister/red model (which looks really, really cool but my lbs has yet to stock it). It may require more frequent trips to the website or your LBS to keep up to date on the releases.

We rode the TDC at the Indianapolis motor speedway today and I had a pretty good size guy go by me and he was riding pretty hard. I could see the isospeed decoupler really working.
