I ended July with 582 miles. So far for the year, I am at 3,097 miles so far for the year, well on my way to the goal of 5,000.

Looking at my stats is interesting. Per Strava I spent one less hour on the bike in July than June and one more than May. However my mileage was up 48 above June and 76 above May. All with 3 fewer activities in July than each of the previous months. This seems to suggest that I have increased speed and fitness over time.

jsigone 08-01-14 03:36 PM

can I have some of your fitness?

Yamato72 08-01-14 03:51 PM

I made it to 501 miles for the month, almost to 900mi for the year.

MikeRides 08-01-14 07:43 PM

Out of curiosity I decided to add in my assumed commute mileage (10 miles -/+ a day for all 31 days of July = 310 miles) to my recorded mileage/tracked recreational rides (302.6) to see my total riding mileage for July was really 612.6 miles! I guess I should start recording all my rides and keep my bike computer on my bike for my commutes. For some reason I only turn it on when I run errands or go on recreational rides.

I missed by 2 days. Goal was to see 210 by the end of the month and I saw it this morning.

You work 7 days a week every week?

Yup, a close friend and I opened our own diner-style restaurant a couple months ago after being laid off after over 10 years working for a big corporation. Even back then I was working 6 days a week, putting in close to 80 hours a week some weeks (I had no home responsibilities back then). I worked many unpaid hours in those 10 years, and this year I find out I was being replaced by some immigrant who can't speak English, never arrives on time and leaves early when he showed up at all, and is always slacking off when he is there. But hey, that's America for ya.. Now my hours are pretty much 4:30am - 3pm though I've recently hired my nephew for the summer so I've had the chance to skip out after the breakfast rush most of the time if I wanted to.
