If I go clear to the IN state line (only about 14 miles from here) I hit gravel, for some reason I associate Black Wallnut with gravel grinding, he posted about it once and it stuck, so it becomes a Black Wallnut ride if I am grinding gravel hehe :-).

I once spent the night in Monroeville, IN when crossing the country before crossing into OH. I think we stayed in Grand Rapids the next day and then did a short day to Bowling Green for a two-night stay at Fire Lake Camper Park right next to U.S. 6. Lots of cars gave us friendly honks as they drove by and saw out little tent city.

Every weekday I head south on my road (a state highway) til I hit US6, then head west to Butler, IN.

Right at the state line there is where the Rail speed record was set with a jet engine powered "locomotive".....if you watch the videos on youtube it looks very similar today to what it did back then.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5pB-PGnF-B0

My route that does a few miles of Amish country gravel grinding is about 7 miles north of there, just West of Edon Ohio.

https://www.google.com/maps/@41.4813.../data=!3m1!1e3

You can see Edgerton at the bottom which is where you rode through, and North is Edon which is the West end of a lot of my rides, 2 miles West of Edon is a little gravel and an Amish area, I try not to grind TOO much Amish gravel because there is a lot of horse droppings pulverized into that dust, and I worry a bit about Gaurdia and other stuff like that on water bottle nozzles :-).

My July was pretty successful. 22 rides, 19:47 time in the saddle, 297.32 miles, biggest ride 39.24 miles, 9.6 pounds lost, down to 234 to end the month. I haven't been out of the 240's in a long time.

Well done everyone.

July miles 212
July time 18h 58 min
July weight loss 8.8

I am using MyFitnessPal as well. I try to only eat the standard calories and not the ones I exercise.

I went to college with someone from Archbold, Ohio. He always said he was near Indiana but I can see he wasn't.

July was 60 hours 901 miles with 33 different rides. 3 days of total rest. 4 rides 4 hours or more including 1 metric, 1 double and one 94 mile ride. The other 4 hour was a big hill climb. 2 trainer rides. It all adds up. Meanwhile my weight has seemed to stagnate in July. I need to get back on track.

What a small world. I have friends from college that live in Edgerton and Edon ohio. Pretty much right in your neighborhood.

I think we are all only about 3 people removed from knowing each other somehow :-).

I grew up in a town called Swanton which is West of Toledo.

Same here. Really incremental though. I need to be more disciplined. I'm at 60-80lbs down from the beginning of the year though(don't know exactly how much I weighed).

Picked up some new cycling clothes today :-).

Louis Garneau Thermal II Long Sleeve Jersey - Performance Exclusive - Long Sleeve Cycling Jerseys

size L, it is a little snug, hoping it is not too loose in the spring :-),

weighed in at 227 today. Got a couple champion long sleeve duo dry shirts to wear as base layer, size M there. Got some bootie type show covers, and some let warmers. It was 50f here this morning and windy.....too cool really for short sleeves and bike shorts :-).

Weighed in at 221.6 today :-). MFP busted me down to 1960 cals a day.

Wife and I will join the YMCA Saturday or Sunday, looking forward to setting up some free weight exercise some days of the week.

Honestly it should not MATTER really that it gets reduced, there is less of ME to feed after all, but yes it will get interesting when it gets lower and lower :-)....some of what I eat a LOT is easily reduced, like quakers old fashioned, and the feed zone portables I like a lot of them can be made into smaller portions :-).
