    Clyde no more! :)

Well, I've weighed in at under 200lbs for the first time in 11+ years for the last week now! I was at a high of 235+ (not sure, I would guess 240 was my top but I don't know) some 2 years ago. I began officially keeping track in February at 228, and had already changed my diet and started exercising by the time I bought a scale!

My goal for the end of summer was 210! My NEW goal for Christmas (yep...including Thanksgiving) is 180, my highschool graduating weight. I know its going to be hard, but I've found what works...

I've gone from a 40" waist in jeans just fitting to now a 38" has plenty of room! I see 36" (highschool size) in my near future! Shorts I still wear a 38" though, same as highschool I like the room! And, my 2xl Primal Wear "3 monkeys" jersey actually fits comfortably now! Its not really baggy, but its not skin tight. I'll wear that, very soon!

But, and this is the important part: I feel better. Physically, mentally, I just feel better. Carrying around so much extra weight is really such a burden, and I'm just thankful Its been a relatively easy journey (I'm not saying its always easy, but I had my mind set and something just clicked with me, finally)

I won't stop visiting the Clydes/Athenas section, though. The folks here are the most down to earth of the whole forum, in my honest opinion. I feel most of US here ride because we really, truly, have a passion for cycling, or at least just love being on the bike!

Now, I admit... I kind of wish I had built lighter wheels this winter. At least I know with my weight decreasing, those Deep-V's should last me a long long time!

Here is to hoping I can make it through 4 days at my grandpas without gaining too much! I gained 2lbs there over Memorial day weekend...but to be fair I didn't do much, either. Hopefully its nice weather so I can take the kayak though, that will burn a LOT of calories! nice big 7 mile long reservoir to paddle

Congrats, that's awesome! I'm broke, so I'm still in my size 42's. I didn't see much sense in buying 40's if I kept going. It's just going a lot slower this year than I though. I wear my only pair of bike shorts under a pair of cargo shorts when I go for a longer weekend ride and my wife was teasing me saying she would rather see me in the tight shorts. So, I loosened the belt and my cargo shorts fell straight down, LOL.

Hopefully its nice weather so I can take the kayak though, that will burn a LOT of calories! nice big 7 mile long reservoir to paddle
That was my first thought when I was trying to find an exercise enjoyable enough to be sustainable (I've tried the weight lifting thing over and over and over again in the past.) I figured I was 5 minutes from the river and even if I paddled upstream for an hour and only got 8 feet, it would be some pretty good exercise for an hour. I ended up dusting the old Walmart bike off in the garage instead and bought a new bike this spring. I may see if I can get some paddling gear next spring. It's hard to ride the trail along the river on the weekends and seeing all the kayaks out on the water, or the trail out at the lake and seeing them all out there. Saturday would have been a gorgeous morning to be paddling on the lake with the fog. I was riding the trail instead.

Congratulations!! It's a wonderful feeling isn't it? I made it in December and while I'm at 204 today I've done a pretty good job of keeping the weight down. I sincerely hope you make it to 180.

    Congrats!

The really great part is how you relate how it makes you feel better!

On the Deep V's, they'll be awesome training wheels!
    Besides, they already paid off!

Congrats! I weighed in a few pounds over this week but I hope to be there, too.

Thanks everyone! Its been a long journey, though I lost in 7 months what I gained over 10 years! I know I can sustain it because...well honestly I get full quick now. I didnt just jump on a diet, I CHANGED how I eat, and how I live... That is the key!

I know for a fact I'm happier and my confidence has gone up quite a bit. I feel like I've been freed from a prison, and its wonderful.

I'll make it to 180 again. If not by Christmas, by spring. Either way, I'll be satisfied!
